Replacement battery for Welch-Allyn otoscope. They work just like supposed to without the high cost of purchasing Welch-Allyn which was 3x as expensive.

I purchased the battery, based on my online research, the info on my nonworking OEM battery and finding the WELCH ALLYN MODEL # 71050-C inside my very old otoscope. 71050-C is the same as 710171-501. See attached photos. This Banshee replacement battery worked with no problem.

Before I ordered this battery, I saw a couple of reviews from a couple of years ago stating the positive pin on the battery would not engage the positive plate in the otoscope/ophthalmoscope handle, but no such comments in recent reviews. And the reviews stating such did not mention my 71050 handles. Unfortunately, this was the case for my old 71050 handles, both of them, and the battery was returned to Amazon. Compliments to Amazon for making the product return so easy.

Just what I needed for my otoscope. My previous battery wasn’t making it through 3 hours, this one lasts all day (12 hours) and then some.

Got this to replace welch Allen diagnostic and didn't want to pay for brand name. Works great and charges fine. It was dead when I first got it and didn't think it was working but left it charging for a full 24 hours and now it works great. They probably forgot to factory cycle it before shipping

This review centers on the wonderful customer service that I received from Blue Grass Wholesale.I needed a specialty battery for a discontinued medical instrument. I ordered what I thought was the correct size for a very reasonable price (less than 50% of a manufacturer-supplied "original"). I had made an error. It was the wrong size. I contacted the company to explain my mistaken order. The Blue Grass Wholesale customer service representative was kind, understanding, and professional. She offered to take back the battery and did not charge a restocking fee. I paid only for the return postage. The item I wanted was on back order, and I was told the approximate date of availability. The company representative contacted me by phone when the replacement battery restocking was delayed, and then by email when the item was shipped. There were no additional charges applied, not even reshipping charges. The replacement battery fits and functions well, as expected.Such personal, professional service is exemplary and unusual in my experience.

I purchased this battery in Jan 2012 for rare use at home, to look at my kids ears and the neighbor's kids when the need arises.I never really had the opportunity to use it until April. The battery would not hold a charge. It kept the otoscope working for a few minutes and then the light faded.I contacted the seller and they sent me a new battery, no charge. They included a prepaid envelope to ship the first battery back. I thought this was great service. The second battery would not hold a charge. This is when I became dissatisfied. They would not refund my money. They would ship me a new battery, but only after I shipped them the battery back at my expense. I wanted to ship the battery back at my expense and get a refund but they would not do that. I was told time had expired. The two year warranty only replaced defective products. It did not refund money in a case like mine.I was met with excuses, not help. Was my charger faulty? (Could be, but it has always worked before.)We sell lots of these, and only get a few retuns each year? (Not helpful for my situation.)Our policy doesn't allow that. (Not helpful, and policies can be adjusted to meet the need.)If we did that, we would have Internet customers take advantage of us and we'd be out of business. (This one I took a bit personally. A bit of a generalization and it sounds like they think I am trying to hurt them. I'm not. I have no reason to.)Having not many options, I sent the second battery back at my expense and received a third battery. It will not hold a charge. When I contacted them I was told that "there is not much they can do". (They could if they wanted to.) They suggested I send the battery back. They won't refund my money. No offer to send a fourth one. I'm sure they would, but I am ready to move on, and I bet they want me to move on. What began as excellent customer service has turned into a terrible experience. All over a $19 dollar transaction, my shipping costs included. I doubt this would put them out of business, as they suggested. I can't understand why they would not, after three attempts, refund my money and we call it even. I bet they generally sell a good product, but the customer service and unwillingness to "make things right" are troublesome.I have also noted that any bad reviews are responded to in a defensive, customer was wrong type of response. That is consistent with how I was treated.
