Transparency is great in most of its surface but the imperfections are a bummer if the intent is to use it as a fishbowl. It can be used as a quarantine bowl, no problem.On the other hand, I believe it would work great as a flower vase or plant vase.

Bottom line - if purchasing to display a fish on countertop, I would look elsewhere. If looking to have an "in case emergency" backup or to transfer fish between aquariums, this works well.Ordered this to replace a glass fish bowl that broke. As I only use this when I have to transfer fish from my quarantine tank to my main tank or to rinse live brine shrimp, thus works very well and suits my needs. It is very lightweight and I'm not worried it will shatter if it accidentally gets dropped.However, you can see in two of the photos that there is a highly visible seam in the bowl and one side appears to have multiple defects where the plastic either melted slightly or was not formed to the mold properly. Due to thus, I would not want to use this for a goldfish or betta that would be on display on a desk or countertop. Not sure if this is a problem with manufacturing or on the quality control side - thus the 3 star review.
