I ordered the U0U Backer Rod 1/4 Inch, White Backer Rod Caulk Saver to fill in some cracks / spaces between the wood boards of our sunroom wall and where the window frame meets the wall.I thought this would be sticky or gummy but there's absolutely no mess when using it. It's just a stretchy rubbery substance.Be aware this does have a strong chemical smell to it. Very noticeable as soon as the package was opened. The smell did diminish after sitting out a few days.It was simple to push in the larger spaces, for the narrower ones I stretched it and used a butter knife to insert it.The sunroom is a cat room temporarily for a stray Mama and five kittens. Apparently the kittens paid way too much attention to what I was doing because the following morning they were playing with a few of the pieces they had pulled out.I simply reinserted them and hid it with a bit of caulk. This was such a simple, no mess fix to cut some of the drafts. I would use it again!

The U0U 1/8-inch backer rod is like rubbery, stretchy, flexible rope. It is not tacky or sticky. I find it very easy to stretch and press into gaps where it stays because it tries to expand to its original diameter. It is water-proof, so I used it to fill a gap behind a sink and it works great. I am very happy with the results.
