I installed this into a 2024 Ford Transit cargo van which was not equipped with a factory rear-view mirror, so I couldn't use a conventional strap-on mirror camera system. Overall I'm happy with the results, with a few things that could be better. My Transit had a mirror mount on the windshield but not of the standard size and shape. This product included a few mirror mount adapters, one of which worked for my vehicle. I had to trim some plastic to make it fit, but you'd have to look at it pretty closely to see that it's not original equipment.Unlike a lot of the mirror cameras, there aren't any jacks or plugs for power, GPS, or rear camera on the actual mirror. There's just a slot for the SD card on the bottom, hidden by a snap-on cover. This also helps to make it look like a factory mirror rather than an after-market part. The inputs for the GPS and rear camera are located near the power wires, at the other end of the cable from the mirror connector. This might affect the way you'll want to run the rear camera cable, because it will be connected near the power source rather than at the mirror. The rear camera cable had plenty of length for my Transit, which has the 148-inch wheel base and mid roof. Since my power connections were made behind the glove box, though, I had to run the cable on the passenger side of the vehicle. It wouldn't have had the length to run down the other side and across.I wasn't planning to use this for backing as much as just a wide-angle rear view mirror for driving, and it works very well for that purpose. Because of this I didn't bother connecting the reverse light wire or setting up the guide lines. I use the Transit's factory mirror for backing. The rear camera was challenging to install because of its size. I ended up cutting into the high mount brake light assembly next to the OEM backup camera. I'm very happy with the rear view I get while driving; the picture is sharp and clear. You can swipe up or down on the screen to adjust the height of the rear camera view.I haven't driven with this system at night yet, so I don't know how well the rear camera handles low light conditions or headlight glare. I'll edit this review when I have a chance to test that part. One problem with front video recording in my vehicle is that the factory mirror shroud interferes with the camera view to some extent, as shown in my screenshot. If you're using this in a similar vehicle you might want to look at the T9Pro from this company, which includes a separate front camera instead of having it built into the mirror. For me, it's not enough of a concern to make me return the system.Auto-Vox includes video player software; it's automatically written to the SD card that you load for recording. The playback software includes a live map, speed display, compass and G-force graph. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any way to have the speed, GPS coordinates or other information stamped on the video, so the only way to see this is to watch it on the custom player. I would like to have a way to enable at least a speed stamp so I can see it when I'm playing it on other software. The documentation recommends SD cards up to 64GB. I tried using it with a 128GB card and it was able to record videos, but I ended up getting error messages on startup. Usually I could get it working again by removing and re-inserting the card, after which it would record with no problems until the next time it was turned on. A few times it froze up entirely until I used the reset button. I switched to a 64GB card and the warning messages went away, and I haven't had any stability problems at all since then. Not being able to have a GPS or speed stamp on the video makes this a 4-star review instead of 5, but overall I'm happy with how it's worked out in my vehicle so far.

Installed it in a outlander phev 2024. Work great and i love the design. I had a problem with a firmware update that bricked the dashcam. I returned it and ordered a new one and i even got the better initial rebate of the initial order. The installation was not obvious but found informations in forums on the net.

I'm not much of a reviewer on Amazon, but since the company has done such a great job on customer service, I wanted to jot down a few notes. My use case is in a box truck (think 14ft Uhaul truck) with only side mirrors. I tell you, in California, drivers are mostly in a hurry and thinking about themselves. I've had numerous drivers sneak into my blind spots while I am backing up (with loud beeping and reverse lights) in various parking situations. Too many close calls, so adding some cameras seemed like the thing to do.The AutoVox V5Pro had the features I was looking for (OEM, rear camera, dashcam, parking assist, etc) with an OEM rear view mirror look. I've done alot of testing in my driveway and in my garage, and I am very happy with the image quality and the simple way it "just works" like it is supposed to. Before I could do the final install, i realized that I needed longer camera wires.Customer service made it easy to get the extension plug to route the rear view camera all the way to the top/back of the truck. Both Kaya and Miranda have been very helpful explaining how to set things up. I will say, and I've read it in other reviews, they are very responsive. I'm a night owl, so I can email at 2am Pacific Time / Los Angeles, and get a response back in a few hours - every time. It is amazing and helpful response times. Replacement extension cables arrived within a few days on the West Coast, and I was back to tinkering and setup. The permanent install is underway, now that everything is tested and working beautifully.Thank you thank you thank you!

I installed this unit in my 64 Ford Galaxie as it did not have a rearview mirror and I also wanted a dashcam. I'm very happy with the quality of the product and the video you see when backing up is outstanding I did a lot of research before I spent the money This unit is my first and only choice

I just installed the AUTO-VOX V5 Pro digital rearview mirror/dashcam in my 2022 Thor Sequence 20AT. I'm thrilled with the result. Even though the van comes with a pre-installed rear camera, the original camera is a pain to use while driving, and the resolution is horrible. This adds both a 1080p full digital rearview mirror and dashcam: The dashcam is built into the housing of the digital mirror, and the whole thing completely replaces your glass mirror, mounting to the existing mount.Great screen quality, responsive touch screen, parking and accident protection (if someone hits me either while parked or while moving, the recording is locked and retained), and built-in GPS. Automatically stores dozens of hours of recordings from both front and rear camera. It took a bit of fiddling to run the wires from the front of the van, to the fuse box for power, and then to the back of the van for mounting the rear camera. But very doable, and you learn a lot about what's behind all the trim in your vehicle. I installed the camera itself inside the existing rear light/camera housing, and it looks great.Kaya from Auto-Vox provided fantastic (and immediate) service when I discovered that I needed different-sized fuse taps. In addition, Kaya graciously shipped me an extension cable because of the length of my van. Kaya was responsive, pleasant to deal with and immediately solved my issues.

Update: Kaya has been responding to my issue and has offered corrective products to help fix my reported issues.I purchased an Auto-Vox X2 back in 2018 which recently died. I decided to go again with the Auto-Vox brand because I expected it to have a similar Operating system and features.I purchased the Auto-Vox V5 PRO OEM and had to get it professionally installed because it only had the option of a fuse box connection for power. The rearview camera is now kept on at all times since it totally replaces the rearview mirror.I am giving this a one star because the X2 had a similar problem as the V5 with the handling of lights from cars approaching from the rear. They still have this issue. After a few weeks of operations I found the following issues:1. At night, the glare from cars when close overpowers the rear camera and you are unable to see out of the back. See pictures 1 and 3.2. When driving, I tapped on the screen and the backup guide lights came on. My car was not in reverse and was driving forward at the time. I had to turn off the car and back on to get the camera to reset. See picture 2.3. There is no way to reboot the camera without stopping the car and turning off the engine. This is an issue if the camera hangs. This could be a safety issue.4. In the Auto-Vox X2 lane departure warning was a standard feature. This is no longer available in the Auto-Vox V5 Pro.I am giving this a 1 star since this should be a mature product and a similar rear camera night issue was noticed with the X2.UPDATE: I am add a couple of stars since Auto-Vox responded to my review and give me a new V5PRO to compensate for V5Pro issues that I reported.

Put one in my 2014 Yaris hatchback it came as advertised and looks great. It was straight forward to hook up. It is very stealthy. Walking by you would never know there was a camera. The one wire from the mirror tucked right under the edge of the headliner totally out of sight. The screen is great and clear. The inputs or adjustments are all on the screen and are touch type. The feature I like the most. Is the rear view and the parking assist lines. They really help as I'm getting older. They are easy to adjust for your car. The only two negative things are I am having a hard time setting the time zone. I will contact the seller and see if they can explain it to me. Second the rear view camera brackets that are supplied. Would not let me attach it to the inside of the back window. Other than that it's a great piece of gearUp date: As I stated in my first review I was having a problem with the time zone setting it had. Also a couple of glitches. Like no bracket to mount the rear camera inside my car.. I contacted the seller and they were very nice and easy to work with. They helped me to deal with the problems I was having in an easy step by step format. And shipped me the bracket I needed for the rear camera. Also during the going back and forth trying to figure out the time zone issue. We determined the problem could not be resolved. The seller decided just to replace the unit. Then sent to me a new unit at no cost to me. There customer service is great and a thank you to Kaya at customer services. I will update if needed in the future.
