Two Selectable Reverse Assistance Modes

This is my second Red Tiger as the previous generation couldn’t cope with the Australia heat but did last 18m. This new generation has an updated interface that’s quicker and smoother to operate. The previous generation rear camera was a nice matte silver all metal design that looked more premium but this new one is clearer at night with 2k 1440p vs the previous 1080p. Installing it is super easy & I highly recommend the hard wire kit Red Tiger offer for ease of use and less wires. Overall I’m very impressed with the new generation Red Tiger T27 and recommend it to anyone looking for a rear camera dash cam mirror.

It was great when it works. For the past few weeks it stopped working. Car starts and the display shows front view when should be showing rear. Then when swipe to rear view it is zoomed in way too far and won’t allow to zoom out. However, When looking at rear view in Split View mode it’s normal and not zoomed in. The rear view is also mirrored, everything is opposite. Lastly it won’t take the “firmware upgrade”. For the price it should last much longer.

It has taken a little while to fit this kit (front and rear dashcam set), not because of the dashcam kit but more todo with the car. In hindsight I would have used a professional person to fit it. I did have a problem with the rear camera lead where the plug which fits to the main unit got well and truly stuck when I was trying to feed it through from the tailgate to the front of the car. The good people at Redtiger provided me with a replacement and I was able to complete job.The results are extremely pleasing. Not only do I have a method of recording my journeys but I now have an effective reversing camera. The picture quality is very good and the all round vision is excellent. The display is larger than the existing rear view mirror making reversing much easier. All the features that are described in the documentation work and easy to set up. The staff at Redtiger seem to be accessible and keen to help. In conclusion I would thoroughly recommend Redtiger and it's dashcam.

I liked the idea of this camera, because of the wide viewing area. I intended to utilize it with an additional camera to assist in backing my camper. It clipped nicely onto the existing mirror, and the touch screen was awesome. One thing I did not care for was the fact that it did not have the wifi capability of their other units. Therefore you would have to view any files on the device, or remove the SD card. Additionally, the view is not quite the same as an ordinary mirror. We found the video aspect to be distracting, and we did not want that. Otherwise, it is a very nice unit, well built and functioned flawlessly. This company has excellent customer service!!! I have contacted them by email as well as phone. There phone service even allows you to leave your number so they can call back. I called near closing time, and they called me first thing the next morning. Email was equally responsive. +++++

This dash cam is really good but not as a rearview mirror at night, there's way too much glare from cars and street light to use it at night.

In Short, this DashCam is state of the art. Touch screen with an easy/intuitive touch screen access menu, high resolution cameras, auto locking based on g-sensor; everything you need for peace of mind and performing up to expectations.I bought this DashCam right before going on a road trip and it captured everything needed. The playbacks were smooth and paused with full clarity of details needed.It mounts over the in-cab rear view mirror, which concerned me at first, but with the clarity of the rear streaming camera and this model allowing for more viewable space through the windshield, I now prefer this type of mount.I have limo tint on my back window, and mounted the rear camera inside, the rear view still provides a clear view, almost can’t tell it goes through a tint. The cables are easily tucked into the panels with the included tool they provide.The touch screen main view has an icon which allows you to tap on emergency recording and it will begin a record and lock session with one touch, making it easier to lock a scenario if needed for later retrieval.I had to contact Customer Support for a part I needed, they were quick to respond, courteous, and I received the part I needed within a couple days. In all of my vendor relations, I’ve not had a better experience feeling appreciated as the customer.

Pro: The camera works great. The quality is very clear. The installation is not very difficult.The features are nice - I have everything that I feel I need.The price is also decent For what you get.---------------Issue:The rear camera mount broke and I had some issues getting a replacement from customer service Because for some reason USPS could not deliver it to me... It's made zero sense because I get hundreds of packages per year at this address.....but customer service was able to finally get a rear camera replacement delivered to me.It did take a few months of going back and forth between getting the product shipped and customer service but they were persistent and I do appreciate that!--> If the rear camera does not work, you cannot use the front one either because you cannot see out of your rear- view mirror.I'm considering buying another one for my mother.

Edit: the customer service is absolutely amazing!!! Not only did they offer a full refund but also sent me a new rear camera. I refused the refund as the dashcam is working fine after they sent me a new rear camera. 5 stars.Original: The camera was good until it stopped working. Night vision isn't that great tbh. Rear camera was placed on top my rear license plate. Camera stopped working in just 4 months. No refunds offered.

I bought this an an upgrade from a Wolfbox brand Mirror style dashcam that was malfunctioning but out of warranty.This front and back cams have been a very nice upgrade to the old unit with 4k front and 2k rear cam. The User interface was also a lot easier/nicer to navigate. Instead of having dedicated buttons for all functions, it uses gestures as a supplement (Swiping Left or Right to change what kind of camera view displays, and swiping up and down depending on which side of the screen will either pan the view from the camera up or down or adjust brightness.)I drive a Ford Fiesta ST and the view with a standard mirror isn't bad by any means, but also not great. With installing the rear view camera inside the car at the top of the rear windshield, using the feed from the rear camera as my 'mirror' affords me much more view of my surrounding. I can basically see cars in the mirror up until they nearly in line with my driver door's window. So this completely kills any blind spot that I would have had previously when using the standard equipped mirror. Aside from that, everything works as it should and does not get in my way while doing its job, which is the whole point of a dash cam for me.The only feature I wish this unit had was the ability to pinch to zoom in on the live feed in case I wanted to catch something like a car make/model or license plate in my rear view that is some distance away, as the wide angle lens in conjunction with the screen the size of a car mirror can make it a little difficult to make out details on something that is some distance from the camera. Not a deal breaker at all, you can still see the presence of a vehicle, and you can look at the video in post to get the details you are looking for, but it is just something that I think would be nice to have. Will reach out to the support team with this recommendation, as I have spoken to them in the past and they have been extremely receptive and friendly.All in all, I am very happy with the purchase and would miss it a lot if I had to go back to a standard mirror. I would also recommend this device to family and friends without hesitation.
