I own an older Jeep Wrangler. It's my toy, my favorite possession, and it's a vehicle (pun) for many other toys as well. I have LED pods, light strips, whip lights, a big audio system... the list goes on. Because of this there is a TON of wiring in my Jeep. I have wires going all through the cab, the engine bay, underneath. Lots of wiring. The wires that pass through the engine bay are subjected to more heat than the others, and there's always the possibility it could fall and touch something hot, so I wanted protection. When I saw this I had to try it.It arrived in a roll in a plastic bag. Installation, in theory, is easy. You just run the wires through whatever length of the wire wrap you want. In practice it's a bit of a pain to get the wires to feed through, but when they're done it's great. This wrap protects the wire from abrasion (and it's thick so it'll protect against a lot) as well as heat. If a wire falls loose somehow and touches the engine it won't instantly cook, and may even survive enough to not need a real repair.Overall I'm very pleased with this wire wrap. It protects against abrasion and heat, and due to the thickness I bet it does both well.

I needed a heat shield to protect wires on my vehicle and this did the trick. It gave me peace of mind that my wires are now safe from the excessive heat. No more melted wires!!

This heat shield sleeve will protect wiring from excessive heat in an engine compartment or adjacent to hot exhaust pipes. The current Amazon listing price of $24 (1/2" x 12') is a good value for this high quality item.

This heat shield sleeve for electical wires worked great for me! The '88 Sunbird has a problem with lots of heat in the area of the turbo charger. i caught the lead going to the cooling system fan becoming brittle and I figured it had to be because of the heat near the turbocharger. I already ordered and installed a turbo heat shield that helped a lot, but this heat shield sleeve has brought the temperture down even more. Since this sleeve is tubular, the wires have to be free to feed them through. The sleeve was easy peasy to install and I recommend it highly!

Pretty durable construction. Seems like it will hold up well. Looks good too.

I got this to use on wires running to my starter and near my headers. The quality of the product is quite good and it does measure roughly the same as claimed. I wasn’t able to get a 2 gauge wire to fit in it, but it will work with smaller gauge wires.

Highest quality sleeve I’ve tested! ..I build and work on a lot of cars, street rods and racecars. Wiring and fabrication is a large part of what I do. I got the chance to pick up and review this heat shield and put it to work on a 57 Chevy as I’m building. Snaking your cabling around headers to get to the starter can be a real challenge and it’s particularly important if your exhaust is plated or polished stainless steel as it will melt your wiring insulation quickly if not properly shielded. This shield was sold as 1/2” diameter and was actually slightly larger in the roll I received. The photo with a single piece of 12g wire should give you some idea as to the size of the shield.I keep up with my reviews and will revisit this one should the need arise.I give this shielding my Big-Foot “Stomp” of approval and 5 stars!

I recently upgraded my car audio system, and I have both a 4 and an 8 gauge wire run to the battery. This is an insulated heat shield tube to run wires through. This will accommodate a single 4 gauge wire comfortable, or 3 8 gauge wires (maybe 4, but it'd be tight). This is easy to cut and to slide wires through. This adds some peace of mind to having high power runs in the engine compartment. This will keep the wire insulation from ever melting, and it should keep the wires cooler = less resistance.
