If it did not have the adjustable mixture screw on the bottom it would have been junk just like the rest of the carburetors made today. But with the adjustable mixture screw on the bottom of the bowl, you can richen the mixture slightly if you have minor clogs in the carburetor and accomplish the same thing as running it on a quarter choke.

Quality appears to be at OEM level. Easily installed and fully adjustable. Blower runs as well as it did when new. Expect to get many years of service. Great value of the money paid.

So much better then the NONE adjustable carb that was on my snow blower originally. Quick adjustment and the blower runs great.

I put this on a 8.5hp snowblower and it couldn’t keep up. Put on a different brand carb and the snowblower ran great. Save your money and buy a different carb.

I bought a 2 year old used snowblower that would only run with the choke out. I knew immediately it was a fuel issue so, changed gas, changed spake plug and it fired right up but still had to have the choke out to keep it from dying.Considering we live at 5,300' above sea level I started searching for different jets for the factory carburetorThen, I ran across this carburetor for a screaming deal price. Once it was bolted on, I fired up the blower, adjusted high speed then the idleThe engine runs smooth as silk nowThey never should have been forced to use fixed jet carburetors at the factory. This carb is as good as factory.

This carburetor fit perfectly on my 40 year old 8/26 master craft snowblower. Just had to mount the old shroud bracket, choke linkage and hook up the fuel lines and then bolt the carb onto the manifold with the included gasket. After a few minutes of adjusting the snowblower was running like new again. Great product!

My application is on an old home built log splitter with a Craftsman 8 HP engine with a Tecumseh carburetor. I wasn't sure this would work because it has features not on the old one I am replacing. There is a drain valve on the bottom of the bowl which is nice but will require me to install a shut off valve in the fuel line to take advantage of it. There is also another hose fitting that may be for vacuum to a crank case vent. which my old engine doesn't have. Installation was simple. I had to bend the arm of the choke lever to clear my air cleaner.. Once the bowl was filled with fuel, it started on the third pull and hardly needed adjustment. I had replaced a similar carb on a Cyclone Rake. Draining the bowl will avoid residue from evaporated fuel fowling the carb. At the cost, it's hardly worth the effort of trying to restore an old carburetor.

Bought this for my old Mastercraft Snowblower. It wouldn't run with the choke open, was surging and stalled repeatedly while running at half choke once warm. When I took the bowl off the carb, there was black sediment in it from the elastomers disintegrating. When I started researching an "O" ring kit, I found this entire carb at a lower cost, so went with it. Took me about an hour to install. It did come with the manifold gasket. Some other reviews claimed their's did not. The two holes for the shroud mounts screws were not threaded as noted in many other reviews. One reviewer said he just put the screws in and they self tapped. Since I already have a tap kit, I threaded mine. SAE 8-32 is the thread size for the screws from my OEM carb. There are two pieces from the original carb that need to be removed and attached to the new one. The carb shroud mounting bracket and the choke linkage. I have attached some photos showing the old and new carb for reference. This was a real easy install, but I only gave 4 stars because of the non-threaded holes for the shroud bracket. If it is the manufacturer's intent for these holes to be self tapped by the OEM screws, there should be some information to that effect so the buyer knows the proper method. Once installed, my machine fired right up and ran better than I have ever seen it. No snow to try it on at the moment, so I just ran it up and down the driveway to get it warm. Was able to run it with no choke almost immediately (it's just above freezing here today). I did not have to adjust the idle, or fuel mixture screws even after running to get the engine hot. They were both set at 1 and a half turns out from the factory. Way easier than a carb overhaul and I am not that mechanically inclined.
