The Aurora AU1225MA 12-sheet micro-cut paper / CD/ credit card shredder with a 5-gallon pullout basket is the perfect business and home office device to keep you safe from identity theft. The AU1225MA accepts up to 12 sheets of paper at a time and shreds them into small pieces (5/32 by 15/32 inches), security level P-4.
In addition to paper, the AU1225MA shreds CDs/DVDs/credit cards, keeping vital information from falling into the wrong hands. Pretty happy with this shredder. The micro-cut is a major improvement over my previous strip cutter, and it's much quieter too. The small footprint makes it easy to move out of the way when needed. The integrated handle works well. It's going to take a while to fill up the basket, but the window ensures you know when it's time to empty it. Hoping the better motor with a 4 minute run time translates into a durable machine, but the build quality and fit/finish appear excellent.

Security and piece of mind with this shredder. Makes the paper so small. Also on a side note. I didn't know shredders needed lubricate oil. I bought some and run them in this every about 50 sheets. Keep everything running smoothly. Recommend this shredder. Only thing I worry is the cord. Wish it disconnected it is one with the shredder. The quality of it is a little cheaper. Ones like that in the past. Eventually might give out

It's working well so far, the only downside like I guess with all shredders shredding time is not long before it shuts down. I wish there were a 10 minute shredding capability. I would recommend this item.

I just recd this a couple of days ago and did a lot of shredding. So far so good. It works great and it is pretty quiet. I would buy again.

Over the last 15 years, I’ve owned 4 paper shredders:1) Init NT-PS0CC: Cross-cut, loud, not too bad, lasted 4 years2) Aurora AU1050XE: Cross-cut, quieter, light, lasted 4 years3) Insignia NS-PS10MC: Micro-cut, faster, not loud but not too quiet either, larger and heavy, lasted 6 yearsCurrent: Aurora AU608MB- Micro-cut (less dusty than Insignia NS-PS10MC);- Very quiet (quieter than Aurora AU1050XE);- Very fast (faster than Insignia NS-PS10MC);- Small and light;- Smaller wastebasket than all the other three, but that’s a plus because it’s easier to empty it (it fits more easily into regular-size plastic bags and it’s so light that even when it’s full of shredded paper you can empty it into a bag with one hand.Shredding 6 pages seems to be the maximum, but when shredding 6 it’s a tad slower, while shredding up to 5 pages at a time will get you the maximum speed (and it really is fast). It can handle about 8 minutes of constant shredding (if you do 5 sheets at a time - which lasts about 5 seconds - that’s about 60 sheets per minute or 480 sheets in 8 minutes). You can do three full wastebaskets before it needs to rest. That’s very good performance. At that point, it shuts down due to overheating (as most shredders do).The only downside is that it takes a while to cool down (after 8 minutes of constant work you’ll need to give it a 15-minute break before using it again).But at current price (CA$67.80 + tax) this is a very, very good purchase and I certainly recommend it.Cannot speak of longevity yet, as I just bought it recently.The only issue I had with it was the delivery. It wasn’t delivered by Amazon but Purolator instead and they delayed delivery twice (it was supposed to be ‘next day’, then at the end of ‘next day’ they rescheduled it for ‘the next day’, and at the end of that ‘next day’ they rescheduled it once again to ‘the next day’. Even though it had been on their truck for 48 hours, it arrived in mint condition as the packaging inside was good, holding the shredder in place tightly.

very nice shredder and I feel confident that what has been shredded will remain shredded. I have a strip cut shredder but still did not feel safe that my info was actually unreadable. I have been wanting to get a micro cut shredder for a long time. This Aurora micro cut shredder was reasonably priced and affordable. Also chews up credit cards which I am very happy about. Very happy with this purchase well worth the money.

I had another shredder (Amazon's Pick: https://amzn.to/41Y4YAc ) for almost two and a half years before it just stopped working/feeding the paper through. So I took to reading reviews of potential replacements yesterday. Queue the frustration of getting through tons of 5-star reviews only to find the 1-star foreboding/warning reviews to negate all that reading. It's so hard to know what to buy, who to trust, etc., these days, especially on Amazon. I went with my gut and decided to try this one and I am glad I did. It arrived overnight, less than 24 hours later, and worked beautifully right out of the box.Now, I've learned with these things so I only fed it one sheet at a time. Never feed any home (or office, really) paper shredder more than 1 piece of paper at a time. It's just best practice. Feed it credit cards at your own risk. Om-nom-nom the paper shredder chewed those pages nicely. Very satisfying shredding, if I do say so myself. I got through about a bin and a half's worth of paper just fine. It did get pretty hot, considering, so I can see that it's not meant for much more in one sitting without risk of overheating. So work in batches for a big job or just shred as you go day-to-day.The shreds are so tiny and fluffy! This makes really soft shreds if you're looking to reuse as pet bedding or the like. Look, we know these things are temperamental, and none are perfect, nor will any last forever. But in the interest of saving you time and sanity, this one did not disappoint. I will update if anything wild changes about that assessment. It's a little more than the last one I got ($45 vs. $30) but I do think it is worth the extra $15. (Oh and it's much quieter!) Go forth with confidence, and may the shredding odds be ever at your favor.

This machine has done a great job for me over the last few weeks since I bought it. I have been shredding years worth of outdated bills etc. I figure I had about 100 lbs of docs to shred and buying this was cheaper than using Iron Mountain since I had the time to shred things bit at a time.It has a great light on the top to tell you it is good (green) or you've hit overheating (red). It reverses well and I use it on Auto most of the time.It is a home use only machine IMHO. I find feeding it 2 or at most three sheets of paper to be best and I never run more than a handful (meaning what my open hand can hold) of paper through it without giving it an hour to cool down.Love the confetti shredding.Used correctly this is a great little home machine and from my experience it is well designed and well built. Thanks to the people who made it :-)
