If you've been using D'Addario EJ-45s or similar, you may want to give Augustine Imperial Golds a try. I've been having intonation issues with the D'Addario EJ-45s (otherwise great strings, by the way) so I decided to try the Augustines after many, many years. I was delighted. The intonation issues disappeared (It was so bad I thought my guitar needed some work). The strings settled rather quickly compared to other sets. The sound is bigger and brighter than the D'Addarios while maintaining the warmness I desire and the price is marginally higher. The few extra dollars for this kind of quality is more than worth the expense.

Llevaba años usando las cuerdas de D'addario, pero me apetecía probar algo nuevo. Estoy súper contento, buen precio para empezar. En cuanto a sonido, me gustan más los agudos que las cuerdas a las que estoy acostumbrado, son un poco más brillantes y claras, perfecto para mi guitarra de cedro. La tension se siente un poco mas baja en el traste uno que las EJ46, que para mi es algo positivo. El único punto negativo es que el Re no me acaba de convencer.

These are amazing strings! I compared them to Savarez 540R strings, which I had before these on my Cordoba C7 (cedar top), these AA strings have much clearer and better-defined basses which are balanced better with the trebles. However, the resonance and the projection aren't quite as good as the Savarez, but they're close enough. The Savarez 540R are also twice as much as these AA strings as well. Overall great strings will be buying again!

I'm very happy with the sound quality of these strings. I've played on them for 2 weeks for say an hour a day, and I've started noticing a little ware with them; but I think that's expected. I'm definitely ordering more!

I happen to own TWO outstanding guitars of TWO different genres. A Cordoba C7 Classical guitar, and probably my most favorite a Gibson J45 steel string. However, this review is dedicated to my Classical Cordoba C7 which I use to create my musical pieces because it's so easy on the finger to play. I have tried a variety of strings and took the journey to evaluate the difference in sound quality between the Di'Addarios Pro Arte E45TT's and the AUGUSTINE in both light and Medium tensions. 'THERE IS NO COMPARISON WHATSOEVER' which are by far the finer quality in sound strings. AUGUSTINE ARE far superior sounding strings with a comfortable feel your fingers WILL truly embrace in a perfect marriage. If you seek outstanding Classical guitar nylon strings choose AUGUSTINE. There's NOTHING finer.

La marca se recomienda por sí misma! Es un gusto que Amazon la tenga dentro de su catálogo puesto que no solamente evita desplazarse al Centro de la Ciudad para conseguirlas, sino que te llegan a la puerta de tu casa y hasta con un precio menor.

This is the first time I have used Imperial Reds on my guitar, why haven't I used them before? the high tension trebles are so good , they give a bell like ringing tone, with good sustain. In the past I have used Augustine Classic Reds which I thought were fine, although over time the G could become a little dull. The Imperials settled down quite quickly after a couple days and now only need minor tuning (temperature variation) before playing. I would recommend these to any player wanting a brighter treble response - well worth the money.
