Good for testing a HiFi if you have a signal analyzer. The markings on the frequency knob are at best approximate.I use it for checking out speakers after repairing them by replacing coils, cones, or suspensions. It's a great tool if you are trying to check out a mechanical speaker buzz or with a good microphone to match speakers or get real life frequency response with a waveform analyzer. The waveform looks fine on an oscilloscope with the expected hash at low frequencies and the roll-off at high frequencies.A friend used it to figure out what frequency annoyed some pigeons nesting in his eaves.A nice feature is that this has a self contained 110VAC 60 Hz powersupply. No wall wart!

It's unbelievable. This Signal Generator is unstable below 100Hz.From 100Hz to 20Hz, the amplitude was fluctuating.Useless.

It provides both some wave and square wave outputs. It supplies several volts of output signal strength.

The shape of the sine wave is nice and simple to vary. The lowest it will go is 11.5 Hz and the highest is 980 kHz, not the 10 Hz to 1MHz indicated but the manual says to expect up to 3% error. The dial is very low accuracy, and you can't jump from 100 Hz to 1000 Hz and etc when the dial is fixed, instead it will jump from 100 to 1040 for example. It's fairly low power, wish it could put out more amps. The attenuator very quickly drops the load to imperceptible levels, wish it had a positive amplifier and not just negative. The square wave form is not good. Hopefully this helps others decide if it fits their needs.
