I am so impressed with quality and performance of this product. The Atoto P5 is so far ahead of any of the competition. This was my 3rd attempt at installing a unit to run Android Auto. The screen in the two previous units couldn't be seen at all, totally washed out. Then I read about the QLED screen on the Atoto. The difference is stunning. For a very few dollars more the screen could be seen in all lighting conditions. Simply amazing. Other qualities that set the Atoto apart were the build quality and ease of installation. I will be ordering another for my convertible.

I grabbed this to put in my wife's 2010 4Runner so that she could have all the CarPlay features and stop messing with the crappy nav and radio that are factory in her car. She doesn't really care about sound quality and appearance like I do so this was a great, inexpensive fit for her. I didn't attach the backup camera or the remote for this install... There's already a back up camera on the car, and I feel like the remote is just unnecessary. Setup is very easy... although programming prompts could have been a little better worded, it's still pretty self explanatory. Everything works as expected just like any other CarPlay system with responsive touch screen controls. I do like the built-in mic for talking to Siri however, it sounds pretty terrible on calls. There's good and bad to the mounting system... I like the sticky mat for the dash... it holds really well even in high heat situations. The bad is the plastic arm itself... kinda difficult to find that perfect position and clunky to adjust. All-in-all... I recommend if you're in the market to not change your entire head unit out for CarPlay. This is a much more inexpensive alternative as opposed to my $2k+ setup in my 4Runner.

This device works on my son's 2012 pickup truck, but I can't get it to work in my 2015 suv. A friend who works at a dealership said something in my vehicle's infotainment system is blocking the signals to and from it. My son's older truck has a different system than mine. This device does work as it should, it's just particular as to the vehicle it will work with.

In the sea of different companies and makers of similar devices, it is really hard to find the one that will cover most of the customers, but the Atoto P5 is one of the good ones. The company is actually one of the few that I was somewhat familiar with based on their previous products and the customer feedback I have seen online, so getting the P5 was a no brainier for me.I was looking for a similar product to install and use in my dad's older 2007 VW Passat, and I have to say that I am pretty happy with the device. There are a lot of positive points worth discussing and some negatives to be mentioned as well but before diving down into the details, quick words about the packing and presentation. The P5 comes in a very simple no frills box that is pretty flimsy too, but there is plenty of information about the product and the company on the outside of it, inside the box you have the device, 12v power adapter with a long cable, the adapter also features 2 USB-A plugs, that way you are gaining some modern day functionality as well, steering wheel remote control, wired microphone, backup camera with the necessary connection cables, mounting stand with a suction cup, warranty card, quick start guide and user manual all in English, the package is complete to get you going as fast as possible.Positives:- It works out of the box, plus a lot of functionality - The device is fairly compact with a 7'' screen and it can be placed pretty much everywhere around your dash or windshield, personally I recommend finding a location around the vents of your A/C that way is closer to reach and the cold air will be blowing on the back of the device for more active cooling. The biggest time consuming task is routing the cables around, but if you take your time you can hide them around pretty nicely and some more proficient customers can probably tap into the 12V car power even without using the included power plug adapter.Connecting with your phone is easy, in my case I am using Android and with Android Auto everything is simple and familiar.- Full bundle in the package - All cables and adapters included, steering wheel remote control as well, plus extra backup camera as well.- Auto dimmer built in - So you won't have to switch manually between day and night modes, the device is detecting the reduction of ambient light and is dimming the screen automatically.- QLED screen - Almost glare free and higher contrast of the screen.- The included adapter brings some good functionality with 2 extra USB-A ports that you can charge other devices and connect to the device with a cable.- Easy and Quick installation - It takes between 5 and 10 minutes to take it outside of the box, install it and start working.- Not too expensive, one of the most reasonably priced devices - Most of the competition is priced above the $70 mark, this one is currently around $60.- Possibility for front camera installation and input as well.- Firmware updates are possible via the SD card slot, good to see for longevity of the product.- Touch responsiveness of the screen is good.- Android Auto and Apple Car Play compatible.Negatives:- Lower resolution - The screen is only 1024x600, higher resolution would have been much better and the image would be clearer and sharper.- Poor quality of the remote control - You can see from my pictures, when you open it to install the battery inside, it is not a quality product.- Poor quality of the backup camera - The backup camera image is not the issue here, but the actual mounting and housing of the camera, very flimsy and if you want to install it, it will take you at least half a day to route the cables.- The suction cup can be bigger and stronger, also would have loved to see a bracket that can be fitter directly over the A/C vents.- The included microphone quality is okay, serviceable, but could have been a lot better.- The UI is a bit sluggish, so lower your expectations.Overall, the P5 has a lot of potential and is working flawlessly for the most part and is not going to break the bank too.
