1

Lightweight Design

he monitor has been slimmed down to weigh only 7.4 oz, and there are added locating holes alongside the 1/4"-20 threads for anti-twist mounting. A single L-series battery plate on the back has been placed in the center to improve balancing and maneuverability.

2

Brighter Display

The 5.2" touchscreen display is 50% brighter than the Shinobi, measuring 1500 cd/m² peak brightness, making it easily readable whether you're shooting indoors or in bright sunlight.

3

Camera control

Using specially designed on-screen sliders you can adjust white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed/angle and ISO. A red edge display indicates when the camera is recording internally, whether triggered by the camera or from the Shinobi II.

Perfect for video and photography

Shinobi II will run all day on a single battery and offers a host of professional monitoring features. Set up your shots accurately using our advanced histograms, waveforms and videoscopes. A multi-tool Analysis View gives you all the essential info at a glance. There’s even a selfie Mirror Mode for vloggers. Shinobi II is the perfect accessory to improve any photo or video production.

5

Cable locking

Atomos has developed a unique and rugged locking ecosystem to maintain a secure grip on connected HDMI and USB-C cables and Shinobi II is supplied with a special bracket to facilitate this. With Atomos locking cables (purchased separately) it is the most robust capture cable system available today. Shinobi II is also fully compatible with standard, non-locking cables.

Great product! Monitor arrived on time as advertised! Picture quality is A1 and the new update has the “touch to focus” feature that was missing from the early software versions.

I use a NP950 battery and it feels too heavy and big for shinobi ii. Shinobi is surprisingly light and thin that I don't feel durable to use a big battery on the back for long term use. Shinobi ii was fully plastic so that made me think like that. If you are using a lighter battery, it shouldn't be a problem for you. I went with viltrox as it feels more comfortable and don't have to worry about unproportion weight issue.

I came from a Ninja V looking for a lighter, lower-power option for monitoring only, and Atomos OS 11 seemed like a great fit. After unboxing and loading my LUTs, I was barely 25 minutes in before the monitor felt hot enough to burn my fingers, this was even while using a dummy battery. I reached out to support, and their only suggestion was a firmware update, which I had already done before setting up my LUTs. After that, Atomos went silent with no real resolution. In short, this monitor runs way too hot, has a poor thermal design, and lacks real usability for a professional workflow. No surprise it’s being discounted… It’ll likely stay that way until they fix the issue. Until then, it’s unusable for any professional.

The Atomos Shinobi ii is more than a monitor. It offers touch screen control for focusing and exposure control with compatible cameras. It has a 5", 1920x1080 screen, with 1500 NIT brightness, which can be seen even on bright day if shaded from direct sunlight. The LCD screen on most cameras is useless in that situation. It connects to the HDMI port of a camera for video, and to the USB-C port of the camera for remote control. The Shinobi has an headphone port for monitoring audio, and a LANC port for additional control (e.g., zoom and shutter). It's features are continually upgraded through firmware.

If you're into photography or a video maker, The Shinobi II is a great monitor that will help you compose your video or next photo shoot......Updated firmware has made the Atomos fully functional for the Nikon Z8 and 6III.The Monitor screen is bright and large but the size3 and weight of the monitor are not too large to sit on board on your DSLR/Mirrorless camera.

I bought this to use with my Sony camera's. Unfortunately I didn't know at the time of purchase that the advertised benefits of this over any other monitor ( I own the first version as well) only applies to a very small group of camera's. I own the A1, A7rV and ZV-E1 and none of them are compatible with the reasons you would choose this over even the first version.

Molto meglio rispetto al primo Shinobi. Display veramente di qualità, sistema operativo reattivo, controllo camera ben funzionante e la qualità costruttiva, anche se plastica, è ottima. Consigliato!

The monitor works with some issues, but when you know how to work with them, it is not a problem. With all new updates, the monitor has many cool features (just don't forget to check the info, cause it doesnt' support all the cameras)
