Because of how bright blue the usb hub is when in use, I have it attached to the wall behind the monitor.

Just arrived and seems to work well. Heavy duty cable (Heavier than expected. At this time, I put this on my recommend list... If I feel differently after using it, I will update accordingly.

This is a fantastic item for being able to transfer files between several devices at once. Easy to use, and the blue light around the ports have an visual appeal. I do wish the USB cord was longer, but that is the only thing I think I'd change.

This is a great hup in that it is powered. I had tried to plug accessories into my Mac mini and they would fail because required too much power from the computer. Adding this hub solved my problems. I use the charging port for various devices like my phone. The power switches for each USB port are also good in that you can power a port on and off when using adapters for such things as SD cards or memory sticks.

I have had one of these for going on 3 years. I only use it with USB 2 devices--mice, keyboards, game controllers, and another USB 2 hub with more mice and keyboards hooked up to it in at another desk. I use the port switches on it almost every day and haven't had any problems with it.The port switches are useful if you want to hide or expose certain devices from Windows without unplugging the device. Whenever I turn the port back on, the device is picked up immediately. The switches may be a bit niche, but there is definitely a use case for them for some.

The camera quality wasn't applicable, so I can't rate it. I don't use it for traveling, so I can't rate that either. It seems that it would be fine for traveling if one were simply connecting an extra thumb drive or two. I bought a powered hub because I have external hard disks that I sometimes need to connect simultaneously. Several are SSD and don't draw much power, but a couple are a bit more power-hungry spinning disks. This unit could probably run a single SSD without wall power, but I plug it in because mine are connected simultaneously. This hub is decently-priced (in my opinion) for what I do. It has five ports, including a charging port. The charging port works well and can also be used as a data port. The hub construction feels solid. The 3' power and USB cables are long enough for me. I suspect that one could buy a longer USB cable for it if desired. An inconvenience that I've read about (but hasn't yet been applicable to me) is the potential of accidentally pressing the "activate/deactivate" button next to each USB port, thus turning the port off. Those buttons are raised, so it would be easy to press by accident if one isn't paying attention. Just something to be aware of.Regarding quality, I have two of these. One is powered on and running 24/7 - no issues during the 12+ months of ownership. I haven't used the second as much, but I've thus far had no trouble from it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed a third hub.

UPDATE... The seller contacted me and then sent a replacement hub. The hub I originally bought was just flawed, and the new one works as it should. The new hub I received seems to be a bit of an updated version, and I love the fact that the fast charging port in located on the top instead of the side, and that there is now even a power button for it. The new hub actually runs faster than the first one I received, and I have no more issues with restarting or with the hub dropping assigned drive letters. I'm running 3 WD Black gaming HDD's through the new hub, and they're running as they should. I have video and photo editing software, along with AutoCAD software on the drives, and bought the gaming drives because they're faster. The software has been running smoothly through the new hub. I was pretty upset in my original review because not only is the software installed on the drives, but work is also saved on them. This allows me to travel with just the drives, which also uses the same drive letter across all the PC's I use. The new hub doesn't cancel out the assigned drive letter forcing the PC to issue new ones. I would buy another hub, providing it's the same model as the replacement I received. Also... Thing runs pretty cool under lengthy usage, and even the power unit has not been getting hot. So good job with the design on this model!!The hub worked great until 5 days ago. It has since stopped working 2 times in the past five days. I have one SSD, 1 HDD, and a mouse plugged into it. Stuff on my drives are used for work and leisure. I've had to restart my computer and then go into computer management and re letter both drives to to their previous letters so apps and shortcuts will find software. I also have to use an app to install specific software, and the app doesn't recognize the software even after repairing the path, so I've had to reinstall software twice so far. I have been looking on the internet for a more stable hub, and ended up spending a lot more money. I guess you get what you pay for, even when it comes to usb hubs.
