The green one will release male pins but it is not small enough to release the female pins. I still had to finagle them out with a paperclip.

I used the red and green tool (mostly green) to remove female Packard 56 terminals from the connector block on the taillight wiring harness on my 1963 Cadillac. The tool made the process simple and quick, and nothing got damaged. Such easy and successful terminal removal is in stark contrast to when I've tried to do similar removals using small screwdrivers. It was definitely worth the relatively small cost to get the right tool for the job.

I got these tools to have on hand next time I get into a wiring project. The quality of the tools leaves a lot to be desired. The machining done on the shafts themselves has left a pretty rough edge on them (small rough burrs), and after handling them, a black powdery residue coated my fingers - wonder if mine missed the final step in the process. The tools seem like they would break without much effort. I still expect them to get the job done, as de-pinning doesn't require a ton of force on the tool, but it would be nice to have a bit more confidence in the item. If you need a super cheap set that you don't plan to use much, these will work very well for a couple times. I now wish I'd purchased a higher quality kit for just a few bucks more, as I intend to have tools like these in my toolbox for many years to come.
