Product Description

This Astromania star diagonal has a 1.25" metal barrel. The chrome finish not only looks good, but is also practical, as the star diagonal always remains firmly attached to the focuser. The clamping screws lock the barrel firmly in place without scoring the nosepiece, as is the case with many cheaper products. In short - this barrel will keep your star diagonal in condition for virtually forever. The mirror has had everything that is possible optimised, it is the link between your eye and the telescope - and is hence just as important.Sometimes you do not want to have to re-install a filter every time you use a new eyepiece. Perhaps you might want to observe the Moon today with a range of eyepieces - but with the same filter? That is also possible due to the filter thread provided in the star diagonal.

I purchased this 90° mirror for a telescope that was packaged with a 45° prism. This makes life so much easier on the eyes when viewing the night sky. Let's get those views of the Planet Parade! *0/*

Arrived in a well padded package within the estimated shipping dates. Okay, my mistake; this mirror based eye piece doesn't correct the left/right or up/down perspective in a telescope. Only a prism based eye-piece will correct perspective. By the way just FYI, the 90-degree design just makes looking into the eye piece easier; you can stand upright and look vertically down into the eye piece, instead of crouching down to lookin horizontally straight into the eye piece.

Just got it delivered today, and put it on my telescope and will not focus at all. Can’t even look at the moon without it being just a fuzzy blob of cheese. Cheap things aren’t always great, and great things aren’t always cheap.

I have to say that the difference between original part and aftermarket part is night and day. I tested this for terrestrial viewing and the image was sharper, cleaner, and brighter.

It says it’s a 90deg. But doesn’t mention magnification? It throw focus off when switching lenses

When I picked it up I was impressed at its weight. It has a very solid feel. The mirror is very clean, and when I installed the diagonal in my scope and tested it out on some distant trees I could focus clearly, no distortion. The thumbscrews on the eyepiece receiver are big and easy to grip. The plastic on the receiver tube seems a little thin, and it makes me kind of nervous about stripping the screw holes, but only gentle pressure is necessary to hold the eyepiece securely in place. All in all, it is a good basic diagonal. Looking forward to the next clear night.
