The old meter i had did not do what i needed so i searched on Amazon and this seemed to a really good option that was not that expensive. After buying it I am glad i got this one, overall it is a lot better built unit than the old one. It is a good meter accurite and rugged. The probes and the connectors are very stout and stay in the meter which the old one when turned on its side they fell out.

For ages I've had one of those cheap multimeters, and I really fancied something a bit more capable - this did not disappoint. I got it, the Khanka Hard Case, and the separate test leads kit all together as a gift to myself. While I might have loved to own Fluke, this one does what I need without breaking the bank!It comes with enough stuff to be immediately very good, though I prefer the test leads from the separate kit - the stock ones are fine and still come with removable tip shrouds (so you don't accidentally short between component legs so easily). The display is nice and big, and there's no problem with viewing angle. The backlight is electroluminescent or similar, so it's a good uniform blue to read off.The built-in stand is nice and steady, but it can jam sometimes when folding back in. There's an integrated magnetic strap too, which I've not had to use yet but which is very good at picking up steel grinding dust from the workbench. While the test leads are all properly shrouded for safety, you can also plug in regular 4mm banana leads if you're doing a hookup on a bench (the separate test leads kit comes with spring clip leads with stacking banana connectors, which can be really handy for certain setups). One feature I bought this specifically for is that the current measurement ranges all use separate connectors - so there's never a situation where the voltage test ports are shorted together. So long as you're methodical and always return your leads to the main input, you're unlikely to accidentally blow up fuses (or equipment). There are two separate current connections and both are separately fused; there is no unfused range. The current shunts are somewhere around 100mΩ (A connector), 1Ω (mA setting) 100Ω (µA setting).

I will state outright that I am not really leveraging the ability of using the all functions to be super precise such as Fluke multi meters( but its also costs only a fraction of what a similar fluke does). i do a fair amount of electrical work and electronics troubleshooting. A quality multimeter is a mainstay tool in my line of work, so when I saw the price within my Budget i grabbed it.Overall, it seems to be very well made, and provides all of the testing / verification measurements that I utilize on a daily basis. I probably need to spend some time reading up on various scenarios that would make using the all feature more efficient or easier, but, for the time being, I continue to leverage the probes for all my readings. Thus far, I have had no issues with accuracy or functionality. A comparable Fluke unit would cost close 5x as much, and, for semi-pro or the DIY space, there is no need to go all out. I think this is a great step-up option for someone that needs a little more than a traditional digital multimeter, but not yet ready to break the bank on a professional industrial Fluke meter. For ~$39 CDN (current price), it is hard to go wrong. If you need a step-up from a basic multimeter, this is definitely worth your consideration as it does Have 6000 true RMS.

An electrician I'm not. But I needed a better multimeter than I had to track down parisitic voltage draws on my old car. This seemed to do the trick. I bought an extra set of lead extensions so that I could run the leads from the car's battery to inside the driver's area so that I could easily read amperage when pulling fuses at the car's interior fuse box, located near the driver's left knee. The meter had a max reading of 10 amps. Even though a number of items I read about tracking down parasitic draws said the meter used should read up to 20 amps, I felt 10 amps ought to be sufficient for my use, since I'm tracking down voltages in the milliamps. Anyway - it worked just fine. Drew no amperage anywhere close to 10 amps, let alone 20.The meter was easy to use and the scale easy to read. It seemed responsive to me, although other reviewers complained that their's wasn't. Didn't use the magnetic hanging strap. Suppose it might come in handy - but not for what I was doing. The meter comes with no case - but I had a plastic case from a bunch I had bought on Amazon for other things. The case fit the meter and leads perfectly. Some folks complained that the back light went out after a short period. By pressing and holding the backlight button you can cause it to stay on. Same with the auto-off function - some folks complained that auto-off was not desirable in their work. You can press and hold the ? button (I now can’t remember which button I pushed) and auto-off goes away. Some people mentioned the lack of a manual. Well there is a manual - at least one came with my meter. It's a "wee" manual - 20 pages - but adequate for my useBottom line - I'm very happy with this new meter.

Folks, I had a more basic multimeter for a few years. However, there were countless times I needed a multimeter with more options. After a ton of research, I narrowed the field down to this AstroAI Digital Multimeter. And I am so glad I did. First off, I tested its accuracy against two other models, and it was spot on. I then tested the grounding features, and everything worked perfectly. This is now a primary tool in my kit bag! Great purchase for the cost.

As someone who has carried and used a dmm as a necessary tool for decades, this is above average for occasional use. If you know how to use one. And in reality, good for the price. No, it's not a Fluke, but for 90% of what you use one for, it works fine and it's extremly inexpensive. Sample size of one, it was decently accurate when checked on the Volts, Ohms and Current scales. I measured various start and run capacitors and the readings were plausible. 1% resistors measured within 1%. I asked the vendor about the crest factor for the TRMS readings and they said it was 1.414. So I would be careful with readings of non sine waveforms, VFDs, servo drives, etc. The thermocouple readings are only in whole degrees, so perhaps indicator quality. I have a few gripes like the auto display and shutdown timeouts, but those are a pain on many dmms. Oh, and excessive beeping. I _know_ when I'm switching functions. The unit is supposed to have Cat II and III safety, but this depends on some fuses which are inobtanium in the US. I'm going to ask the vendor about a source. When checking 4-20mA automation signals it's really easy to touch the wrong terminal and blitz the .4A specialty fuse. The leads are short and PVC, but you can fix that. I don't have a means to check frequency and duty cycle handy. Now, retired, it should meet my needs. That is, I'm not going to return it and buy a Fluke. If I was working, I probably would. So my rating would have to be the famous "Good for the money". Spare fuses is an important issue working around 480 V to keep the Cat ratings.Construction seems adequate to me, you should treat your meters carefully. Oh, and one final thing. The magnet strap hanger is worth it's weight in gold working on equipment. I think Fluke's costs more than this meter.Update: Contacted the company, they said they would send a spare. This was a nice gesture, but in industry, to issue or approve the meter for a maintenance crew, it would be manditory to have spares available. It's a special part and the high current interrupting capability is needed for safety and to maintain the CAT rating. An ordinary fuse, if you could find one that fits the holder properly, might maintain an arc in an inductive circuit, destroying the meter and possibly starting a fire or injuring someone. Not as likely in residential power but, at 480 V and above, such things happen.
