This is so much better than going from an air chuck to a gauge and back and forth a half dozen times. Screen is easy to see in bright daylight. Only issue I can think of is the difficulty of pealing back the rubber case to access the battery compartment. I suggest letting it sit in the sun to heat up first, it was much more flexible after I did that.

I like the grip on the handles and the length of the hose is just perfect!

This tire inflator is the best tool I have used yet. I have been through so many different ones over the years. This one is built well, does not leak and so far does the job! I really enjoy using this tool and can recommend this one. We will see how it holds up in the future but right now I am happy I bought it.

I work at an automotive shop and I bought this to replace my analog inflator. It works so well that four of my other coworkers ordered one as well. Easy to use, no leakage, good value for the money.

I’m a new full-time mechanic, and I’ve been collecting the best quality tools I can find, on a pretty strict budget. I check tire pressures, plug tires, mount and balance tires, investigate TPMS issues, etc. all day. I decided it was finally time to get my own air filler gauge, instead of hunting down the shop’s shared gauge. This is the EXACT SAME product as my coworker’s Blue Point air gauge. But it cost maybe a third of what his cost.Sure, Snap-On, Mac, Cornwell, and Matco make high quality hand tools, in the USA. But a lot of mechanics don’t realize, these companies outsource things like gauges, locking pliers, certain torque tools, and a lot of electronic stuff. They just re-label another manufacturer’s product. It appears that Snap-On slapped a Blue Point logo on Astro Pneumatic’s gauge. No matter what label is on this tool, it has proven to be a great tool. The display is easy to read, the filler valve stays put when you clamp it on to the stem, it is super easy to fill, and to let air out, and it appears to be accurate to within +/- 1 psi, as far as I can tell from other gauges in our shop, as well as cars that display the exact tire pressure on the dash.I like this tool, it’s a good deal, and it seems reliable. I’ll update this review if anything terrible happens. But after a month of heavy use, I can confidently say I’m happy with it.

Now I have this reviewed this unit in the past as I owned the Matco DT4 but since my original review, my Matco unit has developed a few issues that were not worth fixing considering how much use my inflator sees in an average day and I ended purchasing the updated Astro model from Amazon this time. Unlike my old Matco, the battery changes on this version are much simpler and it now runs on 2 AAA batteries, meaning you could run rechargeable batteries if you wanted. In the roughly 6 months though that I have owned the updated unit, I have yet to need to change the batteries it shipped with so battery life has improved as well. The new stainless steel braided hose with strain relief these units ship with is also a welcome addition as it should keep my new unit leak free for awhile yet. Most importantly though, the features I loved about my original unit are still here. It's still dead accurate, agreeing with known good stick gauges and car TPMS systems, inflates with a full press of the trigger and deflates with a partial press, turns off by itself after a period of inactivity, has the built in back light and ability to change units of measurement when needed. In short, I loved my original unit enough to buy a second one and this one has proven even better than the original unit. For anyone looking for a well built digital tire inflator at a decent price, look no further than the Astro 3018 as it's simply unmatched at it's price point.

Although I've just received this product, I can confirm that it is very accurate and reliable. I work in a dealership and it makes inflating/deflating tires a breeze. I've been using the older Matco DT4 for the last few months (the dealership has had it for about a year or two), and the Astro Pneumatic 3018 is practically identical. The old version was exactly the same as the Matco and the only differences with the new version are the steel braided hose and the AAA batteries. I was pleased to receive the updated AP 3018 and not the older version (with red hose and coin style battery) like others have. The package comes with 4 AAA batteries which gives you 2 charges before having to buy new batteries. In comparison to the old coin style batteries, the AAA batteries are very easy to replace and aren't located on the back of the inflator like in the old version. The battery door is accessible by pulling back the side of the rubber cover as seen in the photos and can be removed with your finger nail.Matco was selling this inflator for about $140. So buying it here was a no-brainer. Time will tell how long this actually lasts. Will update if there are any problems. My ONLY complaint is that it doesn't come with a male air hose fitting. I wouldn't even mention it if other air tools I've bought in the past hadn't included them. This is hardly a deal breaker and it's barely worth mentioning but some people may want to know that before purchasing this product.Update: A year later and it still works perfectly. I use it almost everyday and still haven't needed to change the batteries. Even if I do, I still have the extra set that came with it.HOWEVER, I suspect that I will one day have an issue to address. The matco version of this gauge that we have at work have started to degrade but note that they see heavy use. The affected parts are serviceable (main issue was gasket for the valve/switch beneath the lever).

I've used the Milton 500 series for years in our shops. I can't even tell you how many I've rebuilt. With the advent of Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) and our nitrogen filling services we felt the need for more precision regarding tire pressure.....Especially now that the customer sees the pressure on the dash....I like them all to read exactly the same - it looks more professional. This is a high quality inflator. I love the way the trigger allows both inflation and deflation so that a very precise pressure can be attained. So far this device has proven dead accurate and reads down to tenths of a psi. The large readout and backlight make me wish this product had been available LONG ago. We now own 3 of these and they have all operated flawlessly.....and that is under constant heavy shop use. Shop employees are notoriously tough on equipment and so far this is the toughest inflator I've used.Unless something drastically changes I will never buy another Milton, the moving parts will eventually wear out, which is why they sell rebuild kits. The Milton is only a few dollars less anyway. If you own a shop this is a must buy in my opinion. If a customer is standing there as you use it they perceive that you are a professional and using a very high quality, state of the art tool. Their pressures will quickly be set precisely and they can even read the gauge from a distance.Unlike many tools in the past, my employees take good care of this tool because it makes their job much easier and efficient. They recognized right away what a huge asset this could be.I'm in charge of purchasing and buying this made me look VERY good to the owners.....they love it.My advice to shop owners: Step into the 21st century and enjoy the benefits of this very rugged and precise tool.
