I've worn out my first set and am ordering another. These aren't the best burrs in the world but they work well. They're a bit more chattery than I'd like and will chip if you're not careful but they're sharp and cut quickly. I used them mostly on mild steel, cast iron and weld deposit. They'll clog pretty quickly in aluminum (as do most steel cutting burrs) so if that's what you want, id recommend burrs designed specifically for aluminum cutting.

These are frankly the best carbide bits I have ever owned. I have a 20 yr old air grinder that honestly is not that great, along with a 25 yr old 20 gallon/120 psi compressor. At 80 psi, these bits just absolutely ate up 7/16 thick steel. I needed to window a few holes about 1/8" and I was able to open each hole up in about 10 seconds. I was shocked. Best bits ever. In the right tool these might be difficult to use without turning down line pressure.

Well balanced, cuts effortlessly in steel, iron and most other metals. Yes, even aluminum. Better surface finish on aluminum than aluminum specific carbide. If they ever load with aluminum or zinc, just clean with ammonia. The case is a little weak and the burrs may rattle out. These will live in my work truck which isn't exactly smooth riding. And often off road. But if they will live in your tool cabinet or bench, they are fine. To prevent the burrs from falling out and hitting each other, I put a single layer of double sided foam tape on the lid. This prevents the burrs from falling out when the lid is closed. Yes, the lid snaps closed securely. All is well now.

Very nice set for the price but my only complaint is that even though they are double cut they aren't cut as fine and close together as other more expensive bits which causes them to catch and grab on thinner metal. Overall still quite good.

I've done some deburring and shaping on steel with these and they've worked great. Great value. I imagine they're not the highest quality material for the price. Definitely let the tool do the work and don't force it or let your rpms down to mitigate snapping these as some reviewers have stated.

I regret every grinding job I've done without this set of bits by my side. I've spent hours slotting out holes with other tools, where these bits created clean 1/2"diameter by 1" length slots in 1/4" mild steel in about three minutes. Of course it's not going to remove material as quickly as a grinder, but it's not a painfully slow process either, and can reach all sorts of places that you won't fit a grinder.Even after continuous use the bits look brand new and show no signs of wear. My friend is a metal worker and has broken several using a roto-zip, which is borderline dangerous IMO because of the amount of torque applied to the tool when the bit catches. I prefer to use an air die grinder, even if it is louder, as the torque is manageable when the bit catches and doesn't destroy the tool.

Excellent shipping time and product. Lost my single rounded deburr so purchased these. Excellent set and even better than I anticipated. Great addition to the toolbox with no regrets..

I saw these and wondered if they would be any good at the low price? I have some very expensive burrs but could always use more. So I gave them a try. Wow You really cant tell any difference. They work very very well. they cut nice and clean. and look to be holding up great. I cant believe this entire set cost as much as one high end bit. The set has a good assortment of shapes and profiles. I would buy them again and probably will. I recommend them highly

This is the set you want for general metal clean up. As with all of my Amazon purchases, I put this set to the test the day they arrived. Cleaned up all sorts of welds on soft steel and aluminum on my last project. I pushed, dragged, jammed into all those little spaces with this set. And I'm very pleased to say I see no wear on any of the bits I used, no dull spots or broken edges. This tool can take heavy use. And they have the thicker shaft, which provides much greater support and control. All in all, a great product at a great price. Should last for years.

I was installing a trailer hitch on my car and needed to increase the diameter of a hole for access in the body frame. (Actually side member. It's a unibody) Anyhow I took out a grinding bit on my die tool and it immediately wore a neck in the grinding bit and did nothing more than polish the inside of the hole. It is high strength steel these frames/side members are made out of. So I knew I needed more. You see the ideal is to open the hole up exactly, precisely so it is still a round hole. If you ever decide to sell the car someone is not going to want something with a butchered side member; so drilling holes and punching it out may work but look like it is all dog eared, unless you grind it with one of these. That being the case you can just use one of these to do the whole operation in a snap and do it perfectly. So I looked here at Amazon for a single bit, one preferably that was equidistant up its length instead of tapered so it wouldn't keep jumping out of the hole possibly marring up the factory impact coating. The ones that were available even though marked have a thicker one was only a 1/4" head. Others as well as that one also were burning up as in low quality carbide. Realizing how convenient these are for doing tasks such as cleaning up welds that are down in the crevice of a 90 degree corner of steel etc., I opted for the whole set. The reviewers were blown away by how much work they had subjected these too and how they were as sharp as the day they bought them. I decided I didn't have time to waste on Mickey Mouse tools so I bought the set. Looking back at it I realize that the complete set provides me with every option. If a hole is too small and I need to widen it, and it is so tiny that even a 1/4" head won't fit in there, I can use the rounded taper bit to get started by just plunging through, and then once the hole is open enough I can use a 1/4" head to widen some, and if I want to shift to a larger even sided bit for the larger work it is all there. These bits went through this high strength steel like it was shaving wood with a router. (Well almost, it is steel after all :-) But that just shows you how much I am in love with this set. And yes the bit I used still looks like it did when it arrived. More importantly the job that this bit enabled me to do looks like it was a factory hole, perfectly symmetrical and round. I took a larger steel round washer that was the size I wanted the hole to be, centered it over the smaller hole and traced the outline with a black magic marker. Then I gently like doing surgery, moving in arced paths removed the material just up to the line. With only a touch of undercoat along the inner rim this car still looks 100% factory original. There is a feeling you get from doing something well even if only for yourself. Buy this. It is one of those rare things that you not only like, but also deserves to be in the prize tool in my possession category. Up there with Sorry for mentioning the pry bar but it is worth mentioning in any context. I gave one to my brother for Christmas, he dismissed it as an inexpensive tool, but later came back with his eyes wide open saying he keeps it in his tool pouch and it is the most often used tool. So get the Astro Pneumatic 2181 carbide kit and the Shark tool you will be twice blessed.
