I bought it for fishing around barnacles and oyster rocks. It is superb! Had great abrasive resistance. I spooled it on an Ambassadeur 7000iC3 and a 6 ft Quantum boat rod. Keep a sharp knife handy. A large fish may take your rod and reel away from you. This stuff doesn’t break easily. A child or small person may not be able to hold on because it doesn’t break easily.

It's astonishing that Ashconfish can produce an 8 strand spool of line, market it on Amazon, and ship it to the other side of the earth in two weeks using multiple carriers, all for $10.Now, I feel like I should have ordered way more! They gained a new customer.(update) I've been ordering more in various colors....best price for braided 8x line out there!

I have used multiple different colors and different lb test from 50lbs down to 10lbs. I have enjoyed them all and they are all very strong. This past weekend I was fishing with my light rod and reel with 10lb test on it when I hooked onto this 3ft Bonnethead. The braid did fantastic and I never felt like it was going to break at all. I'll be ordering more in more colors!!

Bought 80# metered multicolored line for offshore bottom drops. Liked the metering for easy depth control and the line laid nicely onto a conventional reel without digging in. Caught several 20lb class fish then hooked into a big boy. Pushed drag to full strike set at 35lbs. Fish continued peeling off line for few more seconds then POW. Line broke in a yellow section about 6ft past rod tip. Initially, I thought line had been previously nicked or abraded. Few months later, nearly identical situation with another big fish; slowly advancing drag; and POW. Again, line broke in a yellow section. Checked my rod tip with q-tip for nicks - nothing. Cut off any suspicious or slightly abraded line sections. With line loaded on reel, a steady pull test showed line breaking at 48lbs; repeated test with same results. I don't know if its a bad line batch or something with the yellow coloring or whatever. I really wanted to like this line especially for the price. But, I just don't trust it ... so its gone.

So frustrated. Bought the yellow and black 30# line less than two months ago. Maybe fished (freshwater) 10 times after putting this on ALL of my rods. Not only is it black and white already but i had a rod that I just put the last of this line on less than two weeks ago. I LOST 3 LURES TODAY BECAUSE THE LINE KEPT SNAPPING MID CAST!! I’m livid!! I’m out the cost of 3 good lures and this terrible line!! I have to redo all my poles with actual quality braid!! Don’t waste your money or time on this!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!

Bought it to compare to X8, which it doesn't. It's rougher, much thicker and as stiff as Power Pro, so, for casting It gets a no go from me. If you're paddling out bait or dropping over the side of a boat I imagine its sufficient. Price seems fair for the amount, but the actually quality compared to top shelf braids isn't there.Mic'd at .64mm for the 80lb.

Was unsure about this, since I usually buy PowerPro or Kastking braid. But when I got it I tied it onto a coin weight, chucked it in a vice and hauled on it until I broke it. The line finally snapped with most of my bodyweight on it, a half inch above the knot. That counts as a win for me for 10 lb. test.I feel pretty confident this will handle anything the light tackle it is on could bring in. Put it on my fathers light gear, he bent a Gamakatsu hook having hooked into a submerged log, but the line was fine. Does not seem to have a memory, but it has not been spooled that long, so might update this if that proves a problem down the road.
