Another handy wire working tool Exclusively from Beadalon. These Spiral Makers create perfect spirals out of Artistic Wire, German Style Wire and any other soft wire 20 ga 0.81mm (.032-Inch) and smaller. Use colorful spirals to embellish jewelry, scrapbooks and paper crafts. Use small-piece of the diameter wire you intend to make the spiral as a washer on the three screws. Tighten wing nuts and insert the same gauge wire into the device. Center the wire in the center hole and insert the twister handle so the wire is inside the slit on the handle. Twist the handle until the desired size of coil is reached. Tip: count the number of turns to re-create the same size coils for multiple coils, or perfectly matching earring dangles.

It took some practice, but after awhile, I ended with beautiful spirals (no more than about 5/8in with 20 gauge wire).

hated this thing in the beginning. Had a really tough time lining up the wire to go through the notch that turns the wire. However, after three tries I figured it out and I think it’s pretty awesome! Don’t do what I did. I tend to over tighten things and that’s what I did to the screws. Also, watch the directions before you use it. My only complaint is that the spirals are only 3/4 of an inch big if that. All in all though very satisfied with the product. So my advice is bear with it and you will end up liking it. Yes I know my bead is a little bit crooked in the picture but we’re not here to talk about how I glue things! Enjoy. PS company make a bigger one for larger spirals! Thank you.

I found this to be a great tool after some tweking, first of all, use a jump ring on each of the peg's, after you have your coil made, them just unloosen one or two of the screw's, don't take them off, then remove the twister and your coil will slide out easy, saves time and trouble. altough they only make small coil's you can alway's make them bigger using soft plastic plier's. hope this help's.

I just received this item. I was so excited I wanted to get right to trying it out. I cut 3 pieces of wire to wrap around the screws. I had to wrestle with the screws in an effort to get the wires in place. Once I got the wires wrapped around the screws it was really hard getting the screws to stay in place. Using the same size wire 18 gauge on the screws I attempted to make a spiral. First of all the T would not fit into the center hole so I had to force it in. That part was not included in the instructions. After I forced the 'T' into the center whole of the spiral maker, the center split on the 'T' was too small. This project would have been simpler and easier using my pliers. The spiral maker spirals are smaller than a dime. It is really not worth the effort of wresting with this Artistic Wire Spiral Maker.

I'm going nuts trying to finish a pair of earrings for a friend that each require three closed-loop spirals in 22, 24 and 26 gauge brass, red brass and bronze dead soft wire. I thought this gizmo would save time and add "repeatability" to the look of my spirals. Not so much. I tried it with 22 gauge wire with OK results (on my first try) but then realized the jig would not work for closed loop spirals and is very hard to use with finer gauges. Like several of the reviewers mention, it probably won't save you much, if any, time, and closed spirals in any gauges are still gonna need to be done the old fashioned way. I'll keep (maybe) trying to use it for open loop spirals, but unlike the "Tiny House" movement, this jig just isn't designed for a wide range of smaller wire and really isn't a solution to going "Tiny". It's a great idea, and I think it's design could be improved upon and expanded to a closed loop spiral maker.

This makes spirals to easy even my husband could make them. :) To save time, I keep three "washers" made from the different gauges of wire I use in a little 1.5x2 zip lock bags marked with the gauge with my rolls of wire. Heed the wire size specifications, as the gauge of the wire is limited to the size of the hole in the base of the twister handle. You can't "fudge it" with thicker wire. I would definitely buy again.

This tool does exactly what it says it will. It comes in handy when you have to make lots of uniform spirals. If you spiral both ends of an 8 inch piece of wire in opposite directions, bend each coil inward toward the other, and gently pull each end of the coil spreading the wires evenly you end up with a really cool spiral bead! You can even insert a bead inside the coils for a caged bead effect! Love it!
