I have performed necropsies and placed sutures before with my supervising Doctor. I purchased this kit to continue to work on placing sutures of various types. This product is not what I was expecting and I would not purchase it again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. The foam pieces underneath the outer « tissue » layer are extremely friable and you are not able to properly practice suture placement with it falling apart and tearing at every bite.

Giving three stars because for the most part it accomplished its mission. My specialty is ophthalmology and the skin required big needles to get down into the red material or it tears easily and won't hold a suture. It was okay for the mechanics and we adapted it but it was a less than ideal simulation of eyelid skin or the cornea surface

Great pads for small portable use, good for simple sutures. Horizontal and vertical sutures are difficult due to friction of suture passing through material

I got the package very early, Thanx to the seller. The material is good for skin closure training. It can hold stitches fine as long as they are on the skin. The only disadvantage of the product is the difficulty to do the SubQ sutures. It hards to hold the stitch in place.In general the product is an excellent training tool for people who wants to practice suturing!

Granted it isn't skin, but for practicing knot tension, spacing, etc. it is great! Reasonably priced and very fast shipping! I will buy from ASL again!!!
