I have owned many rivet guns in my lifetime. And for the most part if you get a few years out of them your money ahead. Unfortunately most of the rivet guns today are designed to be used with aluminum rivets. If you use stainless rivets you will kill them relatively quickly as the barbs that grab the rivet shaft will usually strip out and when that happens its game over for the gun.The Arrow seems to be made better then many of the other guns and I have found even works well with 1/8" stainless rivets which I use a lot of. This product is nicely made, comfortable to use, comes with a nice starter assortment of rivets and features an interchangeable tip for various size rivets. This tools easily rates 5 stars.

As advertised, they work very well. This is a manual rivet tool and worth the price.

First, I have been using pop rivet guns for well on 40 years! Some good, some not so good. All sizes. This one I ordered because it could accept 1/16th rivets. It has the Arrow (like in staplers) brand on a glued-on logo plate.Second, it does work good -- until it jams and the snapped off rivet pin will NOT come out. Will NOT!!!Here is this tools downfall in comparison to other rivet tools: It is a bitch to take apart!! You have to pry off the glued-on logo plate, and disassembly after that after that is no piece of cake, including "timing" the geared fulcrum cam! Had the engineers designed this with the end user in mind --that someday they may have to take it apart 'easily' -- it would have been a 5-star!! And third, forget about trying to re-stick the logo plate!

Worked well, I normally used a pneumatic version but wanted one I could use for when I didn't want to bust out the air compressor, hoses, and all that just to sink a dozen or so rivets. I had long lost my manual hand rivet gun years ago, so I picked this one up as its replacement.Using it was straightforward and fairly simple, but there are instructions included if needed. The 4 Interchangeable Rivet Heads are color-coded to match the bag colors for the included rivets, but I like using large flange rivets, so here is a list of which Rivet Heads are for what size rivets: • Red = 3/32" (2.4mm) • Green = 1/8" (3.2mm) • Yellow = 5/32” (4mm) • Blue = 3/16” (4.8mm)The Rivet Heads are easily changed just by using your fingers to unscrew and screw them on, and they store right on the gun itself to minimize the chances of losing them. I used it today to repair some of the endcaps and joining section seams on our rain gutters, as well as to secure some of the down drains that kept coming apart. The hardest part was drilling out the old rivets, but when it came to installing the rivets with this Rivet Gun and larger flange style rivets, it was a simple process. I had to squeeze the handle a few times to get an additional mandrel bite as the rivet was tightening up before the mandrel snapped free and the used mandrel shank came out the back of the head. While I didn't use the included rivets, their quality looked just as good as the ones I used, other than using a black anodized variation with 50% larger flanges. Also, this gun is the shorter arm version, meaning it requires more strength to set the rivet than what you would need with the longer arm version that gives you more leverage and setting power with less effort.Overall, this kit is a great deal in that you get an Arrow Rivet Gun with 4 different rivet size head adapters plus 100 various-sized rivets to get you started. It's perfect for repairing thin pieces like gutters and other sheet metals securing them tightly together.---Product: Arrow Hand Riveter Kit, RT187M Professional Pop Rivet Gun with 3/32", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16" 100 Pieces Rivets (Each 25 Pieces), Great for Metal, Gutter and Automotive WorkASIN: B099NP2NVS

This gun has performed well in the projects I have used it on so far. However, this is a "light duty" tool and will not handle larger rivets. I recently used this to repair some aluminum chair seat slats. I used rivets with a mandrel diameter of 3/16" and it went great as long as I used the rivets with a short shaft (e.g. 1/4"). When I tried a rivet with a long shaft (7/16"), it was a different story. It would not pop the rivet without a lot of extra pumping, and when it did snap off it was past the rivet head. Also, the rivet got stuck in the jaws and would not eject. I managed to get it out by pushing it through from the front with a Phillips-head screwdriver, however. These guns can be disassembled, but it's neither easy nor simple. The point is: stick to small rivets and you'll be fine. If you need something to handle more challenging rivets, try one that has two active handles instead of a single one like this tool. My 10" Workpro heavy-duty gun handles longer rivets with no problems.Caveat: I have only used aluminum rivets so far.

I have some rivets with a mandrel size of .145" that I need to install. They are all-aluminum construction, so they don't need a lot of force to install them, but they do need a tool that will accept a larger diameter mandrel. I already have a few rivet tools but none of them will accept a mandrel diameter larger than 1/8" (.125"). So I specifically searched for a tool that accepts larger diameters. This tool says 3/16" 4.8mm right on the piece that accepts the mandrel, but the hole is actually 1/8". So I bought this tool for nothing. It is not a bad little tool, the quality is OK, but dammit, why do they say 3/16" on the tool when it is only 1/8"???I figure they mean the rivet head and not the mandrel, but that is STUPID! It is the mandrel that engages the tool, the head can be any odd size and that does not matter in relation to the tool. And so I still don't have a tool that will accept my larger rivets and I bought another tool I don't need. All because the tool makers REFUSE to be clear about the specs of the tool. DO NOT BUY IF YOUR RIVETS HAVE A MANDREL DIAMETER LARGER THAN 1/8"!
