Larger than I thought it was going to be dimensions wise, but it is exactly as ordered. After contacting my internet provider it was easy to set up the ARRIS Surfboard and within 20 minutes I was ready to go. This will help save me money because now I don't have to pay a rental fee for using their box

Bought it renewed, had it online with Xfinity in about 20 minutes. Doubled my down/up speeds. Has both 2.4 and 5 gig. Older Windows laptops and Ring/Wyze cams connect to 2.4 gig wifi. It's been solid with no dropouts/restarts. Also has 5 pretty blue leds on front. will update if anything changes.Update: 6 months later still love it..

Worked well for almost a year and then over the past few months my internet goes out multiple times a day and I have to unplug and restart it. Really frustrating.

As Amazon was currently out of stock on a new Arris SBG6950AC2, I decided to purchase the Amazon renewed unit for $42 less. This really wasn't much of a concern, as the Arris 950G model it replaced was a renewed unit also, and lasted many years (it still works). Plus, it comes with the same warranty, so it's all good. Installation with a Mac Mini was a snap, and I was up and running within an hour. Configuring the SBG6950 with any special settings is the same as before by going to the Arris IP address and logging in, so I immediately changed the generic password back to my old one for security purposes, and renamed the two WiFi accounts accordingly. Afterward, as I was setting my iPhone SE up with the new 5GHz WiFi network, it automatically took me to my ISP, which is WOW (100mbps service), and the new Arris MAC address was instantly registered to my account after login, which was nice, so I didn't even have to call WOW to register it as I did with the last unit. I have my office Mac and a Roku Ultra 4K in the living room connected wired via ActionTech ethernet over coax, and was pleasantly surprised at the download speed increase. With the previous modem/router, i'd get an average of about 65mbps download speed on the Roku Ultra. As soon as i reset the network on it, it jumped to 88mbps! Sweet. I also have a Roku 3 in the bedroom that's connected via wireless, so I switched its setting over to the new 5GHz network, and it connected at 50mbps, which was a huge improvement over the previous average of 20-25mbps. In addition, I have an Epson XP-6100 printer that's connected via wireless, and that's reading at 75mbps connection speed. I usually sync and backup my iPhone via WiFi to the Mac, and this process definitely seems more stable and much quicker than before. Also note that there's definitely a typo in the specs for this unit on the Amazon page, as it lists the cheaper model as having WiFi while this one doesn't...these specs should be reversed. The SBG6950 has both 2.4 and 5.0 GHz WiFi, as advertised. I downloaded the User Guide in PDF format from the Arris website afterward merely for reference. WOW also has a cable modem compatibility chart available as a download, so I recommend checking your ISP for something similar before any purchase. As the unit has been flawless for a few days now, I'm confident it'll stay that way for as long as its replacement lasted. Highly recommend this cable modem/router.

I purchased mine a while ago, and I can tell that from minute one it was super unstable and unreliable. In times like the one we are living in, it's vital to have stable internet, your job depends on it. I had to reset the device almost every day since I did not have the time or resources to change. One morning it did not connect anymore, I called customer service asking for help but they told me my warranty was expired and there was nothing to do. I also called Amazon and one of the customer service reps lied to me telling me I will be able to recover at least some of the money I spent. After a couple of days of struggling to work, I decided to call again to follow up with the case and they said there was nothing to do. I have lost my time, money, and almost my job and nobody cares. If you want to waste time and money then buy it.

The Arris SURFboard modem/router has been awesome! We knew better than to rent equipment from Xfinity but the router and modem we had were just not doing the trick. We'd need to reset once or twice a day, if not more, and it took up all our outlets and looked sloppy with the cables connecting them. With this Arris modem/router it's much more streamlined. One power cable. No ethernet. So much cleaner to look at, but more importantly - IT WORKS! We have a pretty basic speed package, so I can't attest to what it can handle on that end, but I can say we definitely are getting the speeds we pay for now and it's very rare that we need to reset the router - maybe twice since we purchased it months ago. It's typical for my girlfriend to be streaming a movie while I am playing an online round of Rocket League car soccer. I used to experience horrible lag and packet loss and now I have a stable connection every time. I did a LOT of research before buying one of these and this was the best option in terms of price - so it really just needed to work for me to be happy. It's done that without issue, so i'd happily recommend to anyone with similar bandwidth needs.
