Installed with a ARO regulator & lubricator.I'll run this line for an hour or so, 90 PSI and ~3cfm average and watch all kinds of water condense onto the walls of the filter. Works well (In that my oiler isn't getting milky anymore), easy to drain, both with a spring loaded stopper on the bottom, and the ability to remove the entire drain cup.I'm not sure how well this is getting the smaller amounts of dissolved water, as a hobbyist running air tools. I'm just happy seeing water in the filter and not on the output of my tools. The IR bracket for these is way overpriced. Built my own to hold the three devices together. Each has a small indent on the side a steel shelf fit in to hold the pieces in place (see photo).

This is a tiny, quality filter that traps oil and water well. Worth it to protect costly equipment

This air dryer/filter works great, and I see significantly less water vapor through my tools. The only thing of note is that the inlet, as you face the front of the dryer, is on the left, and the outlet on the right. The way my compressor is set up (and I wanted to have this mounted on the compressor, not the wall), I had to face the front of the filter towards the compressor which makes it a little harder to empty of water. All similar products I could find seem to mostly share this directional aspect and have the inlet and outlet on the same sides as this product. Just a minor disadvantage if you are using a set up like an Ingersoll GarageMate compressor like I am.

This was a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but works very effectively with our smaller 30 gallon air compressor. We have two lines running off this particular air compressor, one with the filter and one without. This filter receives intermediate use on a weekly basis, and seems to be doing just fine. Ours came without a mounting bracket, so we fabricated one in the shop and moved forward. Works well for the price point. Would buy again.

Use this for my air nail guns and it works perfectly. Not sure how well it filters moisture though, I haven't been able to see any water in the container after a full day's work. I'm also not sure if it is releasing water automatically or if you have to drain it yourself. The reason i'm not giving a full 5 stars is because of the lack of a manual or any instructions. There is a link to a website of ARO's but I had trouble finding any information about how this thing is supposed to be installed and used. I installed some 1/4" couplings and have this installed into my air compressor and then attach my air hose to the filter. If this is the right way, I have no idea, but it makes the most sense to me.

Works fine. Would be five stars but the little drain shrader is awkward and hard to push without a screwdriver or something. Over all unit feels well built.

I bought this to put in series with an IR pressure regulator, but my air tape is on the right corner of a wall! These units needs air coming in from the left.It was so bloody easy to just take the face plates off and turn it around to accept air from the right side! Love this.****You want more than one of these in line with each other though, still get quite a bit of water through the line with just one in use. It CATCHES a lot of water, but still lets a fair amount through.

A year ago I purchased a Campbell Hausfeld airline cleaner. It was awful. It never worked properly. I decided to put 3 of these in-line for our warehouse pad printers. They work flawlessly. They are easy to empty and take up little space. The only draw back I find is the glass inside isn't very easy to see so it's tricky to see how full the reservoir is in low light. Besides that small set back they work perfectly.

It is very disappointing that this filter does not live up to the IR name. I have it mounted vertically 6' away from my compressor. Yesterday I noticed the compressor was cycling much more often that usual. There was an air leak coming from around the Shrader valve at the bottom of the bowl and from around the lip of the bowl where there were many brittle cracks in the crumbling plastic. I could literally flick crumbled broken pieces with my fingernail from around the valve until the threads were exposed. There is no residue in the plastic bowl and my compressor runs clean, synthetic compressor oil. The filter element is snow white clean. My PSI runs at 90. I don't know why this early failure happened. I don't doubt the reviews of those who had a good experience, but perhaps something has changed in the manufacturing process or a supplier has changed and the bowl you get may be defective. The metal housing says "Made in South Korea" and I have no opinion on what that means for quality except to give you some way of identifying a possible problem product if yours comes from the same place.Too bad for me that I can't return it now. I definitely will not be buying another one of these as there are alternatives on the market.

I bought this to keep moisture out of the R37121-600-VS 1/4" regulator on my 30 gallon automotive compressor. I use the compressor to run an airbrush. So, the compressor only cycles a few times a day, but the unit is pressurized all day long. Therefore, I like components to hold pressure - Leaking air is a bother. This filter holds pressure quite well with little noticeable loss after a day.The filter seems carefully designed and well made. It is light-weight, but it does not look or feel cheap. I think it will last. The housing is plastic with aluminum internal components. It has a clever, sliding detente to release the bowl. Like other manual drain filter units, there is a pin at the bottom that can be pressed to release air and water while the compressor is pressurized. When the compressor is depressurized, you can remove the bowl. This filter is cost effective, holds pressure, and works well. I recommend it.

Ingersoll Rand has made TOP quality products that my dad has used my entire life and I have for 30 years... I really needed a water trap but did not want to spend a lot of money... so what did I do??? go check Harbor Freight of course... They had one but it was the usual Harbor Freight stuff, good to use for the moment but you just know it's going to break soon... this Ingersoll Rand is a much better, quality product, then the more expensive Harbor Freight alternative... It is WELL worth the 3 or 4 day shipping to get this product... every part of it can be ordered if it ever breaks and you can even choose from different filters if you need it for something specific... works perfect and I would buy again in a second if I ever needed one again...

I gave this to my dad and he hooked it up to his air system in the garage. It was only $15 and provides a lot of features you don't get with those cheap $8-10 filters in the big box stores. I think this it well-made and will last a long time. It has a cast aluminum head with the inlet-outlet and the filter box is removable. I think you should be able to buy replacement parts since the filter comes out and there are part numbers on some of it but I am not sure. I would recommend this for anyone needing a good filter or water seperater. Also, regarding the other reviews about a mount, you can get a double-side threaded connector and screw it directly to the pump or to a hose-reel. A mount is not needed unless your set-up does not provide a few inches of clearance to connect it like I discribed.
