So to start, this unit works acceptably well for monitoring a mix or maybe for running IEMs or stage monitors. DO NOT use it as a production output or a recording output, because the unit sometimes drops packets, resulting in clicks and pops. Before you use this, you may need to start your DANTE control app and change the latency of this box to its highest setting (which is still pretty low, at 5ms). When I left it on the standard setting, it just dropped too many packets.I work in live audio production, and we run two digital mixers, a computer mixing station, and an OBS system all through DANTE. We use DANTE to run a "digital split" to feed our monitor mixer, and we run a separate mixing session through ProTools to feed OBS. So we're actually running 10 separate mixes: the house mix, the broadcast mix, and 8 In-Ear Monitor feeds for our band.I bought this box to allow our broadcast audio engineer to monitor the mix in a separate studio. For that use, this box works pretty well. However, we still get the occasional pop and click, so I won't rely on this for a production output (ie: recording, streaming, or a house mix.)I believe the problem is that while our mixers both have 1Gbps network ports, this box has a 100Mbps port. With all the multicast packets flying around the network, that drop in speed is probably causing some packets to get lost on their way to the Dante converter.So... the final verdict: good enough for monitoring, but don't use it as as an audience facing interface.
