  • WHY YOU NEED IT: Safely and easily compress coil springs with our Macpherson Strut Spring Compressor! Use it to replace shock absorbers, spring sets, repair bent struts and damaged spindles. It's as simple as attaching the brackets completely onto the spring, tightening down the tool and then removing the strut. Make sure to lubricate the threads with anti-seize compound to extend the lifetime of the tool. The set includes a high quality storage case to store your tools when they're not in use!
  • DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS: Features a Heavy Duty V-threaded rod that allows for fast and precise movement with a large surface area for broad spring contact. The built-in detent pins lock the coil spring in place for safe and easy spring compression. The V-threaded rod allows for durable and smooth compression of springs both on or off the vehicle with hand or power tools. The jaws are constructed from drop forged steel with a hardened center screw for maximum strength and longevity.
  • APPLICATIONS: This Macpherson Strut Spring Compressor has a universal design that allows it to work with all vehicles equipped with Macpherson struts. The V-thread center screw is 5/8 inches by 11 inches long, allows for precise movement and will stay locked in place until rotational force is applied.

Have bought multiple tools from Ares and everyone has worked flawlessly... I'm a DIY'er on my M550I Xdrive and need certain tools to work on her and these tools have always worked perfect...

I have only used a cheap Harbor Freight spring compressor before at a buddy's. This wasn't too much more expensive but it works better and feels safer. I like that it comes in the case so it won't get damaged because I don't expect to be using it frequently.

Complete fail with these. Unable to to do struts on a late model ford. They don't clear the od for socket action and weren't able to compress enoygh to do the job.I now have a pretty plastic box with paperweights. These will works with smaller struts, but will fight you with Macpherson style struts.

Even though item this has a thicker shaft than most, it is still risky using it on heavier springs. I tried the single pair on my 02 Sequoia (same suspension as the Tundra) but it couldn't compress the spring far enough before starting to fail. With two sets it worked like a champ, easy peazy even. Buying two sets is still way cheaper than having a shop do them (they wanted $150 per pair), plus you own the tools after.Hint: pick up some anti-sieze to use on them, makes a world of difference doesn't disappear/run off like oil lubes. Hope that helps someone avoid the struggles I went through.

These worked perfectly for the coil overs on a Macpherson strut. No fear at all of them failing and causing damage or injury. The hooks were a bit small for standard suspension coils, but they still did the trick. As with any similar tool, it is highly recommended you grease the threads before using.Solid plastic box.Glad I ordered them.

Funciona bien para lo que esta diseñado con la ventaja de los seguros para evitar accidentes. Como herramienta de poco uso esta bien, ya si tienes un taller supongo que es mejor un hidráulico, pero para tu propio auto es suficiente.

I used them to take springs off of a 66 mustang. Worked great! I like the safety latches. They seem safer than the ones you insert in the middle.

This is a high quality strut spring compressor with safety clips to keep the compressor locked on the spring. This fits struts but it may not fit coil over shocks depending on how much space you have between the spring coils. I have Aldan coil overs and there is not enough space between the coils to get the compressors attached to the coil. I am still glad I purchased these. They will work great on my other vehicles that have struts where the coil to coil spacing is much larger than with the coil over shocks I have.

I used these to change the springs on my UTV (Honda Talon) and they worked great. Easy to use for sure. If you don't have air tools, it will be a lot of wrench turning but they work great.
