We're Arcturus, an outdoor company from Washington State. We know a few things about cold, wet weather, and that's why we developed our line of wool blankets. Whether we're skiing Mt. Hood, crabbing off the Alaskan shoreline, or just hanging by the campfire, we grab these wool blankets for warm and refined snuggling.
Weighing over 4 lbs, our wool blankets are designed for years of use. These blankets are loom-woven to ensure even texture and thickness. A solid lock-stitch prevents the edges from fraying and they're machine-washable, which means you don't have to worry about getting it dirty.

Thanks to input from thousands of customers, we’ve made dramatic improvements to this blanket in order to provide more warmth and value. Unlike cheaper blankets, Arcturus wool blankets are triple-washed during production, making them softer, more hygienic, and less susceptible to shedding.

How to Maximize the Life of Your Wool Blanket:
Triple Washed During Production
Every Arcturus wool blanket is triple-washed during production so you can use it right out of the box. However, at some point you'll probably want to wash it.
Use a Woolen Detergent
We recommend using a detergent formulated specifically for wool for best results. Like all loom-woven blankets, this blanket will shed during the first few washes.
Wash Separately in Cold Water
To maximize the life of your blanket (and to avoid unnecessary shedding), we recommend washing your blanket by hand in cold water.
You may also machine wash your blanket separately in cold water on a delicate cycle using a front load washer. Avoid top loaders with a center agitator as they can cause damage and will increase shedding.
Line Dry Only
To extend the life of your blanket, we recommend line drying only. Dryers are hard on clothes and blankets alike, and line drying is much gentler.

Heavy and warm. Appears to be extremely well made. A tight, dense weave. Rich color. This is a high quality product and I bought it for it's low price compared to much more expensive wool blankets. It is worth more than Amazon is charging. How often is it that you buy something so well made that you think it should have cost more? I would buy again.

Arcturus has made a very fine wool offering in this blanket. These blankets are thick and well put together. The stitching quality along the edges is apparent (not something one can often say about other wool blankets). The footprint is large and heavy. No doubt these will last for years if you take care of them. A bonus here is that this blanket arrives pre-washed, which significantly contributes to the softness of this blanket right out of the package. There is a slight odor to these out of the package (to be expected for good wool) that passes with airing out/use. I am very satisfied with the blankets I have purchased and I intend to purchase more in additional colors. The color offerings for the Arcturus wool blankets is generous. You won’t be disappointed and surely can find one to match your decor or purpose.

This Arcturus Military Wool Blanket is absolutely perfect for camping, outdoor adventures, and even just keeping cozy at home. I’ve been incredibly impressed with the quality, warmth, and durability of this blanket, so much so that I’ve purchased one for every member of my family. The 64" x 88" size is more than enough to keep you warm whether you're alone or sharing it with someone, and the 4.5 lb weight gives it a nice heft without feeling too bulky.One of the best things about this blanket is its ability to keep you warm even when it’s wet. Wool is a fantastic material for regulating body heat, and this blanket does exactly that. I’ve used it in a variety of outdoor conditions, and it has always kept me cozy. The 80% wool composition, along with 20% synthetic fibers, not only provides excellent warmth but also adds durability and makes it machine washable, which is a big plus. After a few washes, it gets even softer and more comfortable.I love that this blanket is loom-woven with hemmed edges and contrast stitching, giving it a rugged yet polished look that fits in whether you’re out in the wilderness or using it on the couch at home. This wool blanket is dense, warm, and holds up well to outdoor elements- so it's a great choice for camping, keeping as a just-in-case blanket for the car, or even in place of a duvet. I've used it both outside and inside, and it really holds up well against the sun, water (when I forget it outside during a storm), and cold/windy days. It doesn't hold smells long, at least as far as I've seen, but I do air it outside a lot. Not the softest wool blanket, but it has softened more after several months of use, and it's a great quality for the price.While I've used it myself in order to fully review it, I actually purchased this for my cats. They absolutely LOVE this wool blanket. As soon as I put it down they're all over it. They use it as a bed, play with it like a toy, and climb across like spider monkeys or do zoomies through it when it's draped over something. I also used it as a crate cover and it works great since it big and heavier than a typical blanket, making it easy to place over the crate without too much sliding. As a crate cover it blocked out pretty much all light (I bought a darker color), so the cats can have a nice dark area for sleeping/hiding.One downside it that is does shed like crazy while being washed (but that's pretty typical of the wool products I've gotten). I first handwashed it with Woolite, and it shed a ton. Then washing machine, and it shed all over the washer (though not as much as the first wash). Shedding isn't nearly as bad after the first few washings. As a warning, it's super heavy when soaking wet.Overall I'm very happy with this product and plan on purchasing another soon!Edit: Still a great product after 1 year of use, no issues with fabric or stitching even with cats clawing all over it. The charcoal black color has only faded a little while being in the sun and outdoor elements pretty much 24/7. The 2nd blanket I got in green shed A LOT less compared to the previous one I bought. I'm thinking the new blanket design sheds less than before, which is great.I also used 2 blankets to help keep a feral cat I trapped and spayed warm during the nights until I released it, to cover both the trap and crate and keep the heat in. Worked fantastic! Going to buy another before the winter cold sets in this year.
