It's a beautiful mailbox flag. For those who can't figure it out, oil the flag at the hinge "rivet" and it'll move easily.

I liked the price and it arrived quickly. It was the least expensive but does the same thing others do at twice the price. As for durability only time will tell. It came with nuts and bolts to attach to a metal box but I needed to attach to wood. I used a couple of wood screws.

It's real metal. Color has stood up to the weather. It's a nice replacement mailbox flag.

Well priced at $8. Easy to install. Fit the holes on our standard mailbox perfectly. Very durable. Definitely stiff to move before it is attached but that is to be expected. Would recommend!

Bought this for a rural garbage box that we now need a flag for its metal and it works great. Great quality I’d buy this again.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I apologize for disrupting your daily internet rummages, but I absolutely MUST dedicate a few moments to applaud and appreciate an item of monumental importance - The Architectural Mailboxes 5285R-10 Replacement Flag, Red. Here's my five star tribute to this wonder.Ah! Where shall I begin? You know they say, "Home is where the heart is," but I'm going to need a quick amendment to that - "Home is where the heart is, and where a dazzling Red Flag proudly adorns the mailbox."This magnet of awe and laughter isn't just a flag, oh no. It is the emblem of communication, the beacon of hope for those waiting on their utility bills, cheesy pizza flyers and, if you're lucky, maybe an off-chance love letter (we live in hope, right?).This flag, gleaming in its bold Ruby hue, isn’t just a piece of steel, it’s the exclamation point on my homey prose. The way it flaps valiantly against the wind, channelling its inner superhero, is a sight to behold! I swear I heard it humming the national anthem the other day –but maybe that was just the wind. The day the Flag arrived, it commanded respect and attention of not just us, its humble household, but of the passing crows who gave it condescending nods of approval, and the nosey neighbor who, I swear, looks greener every time he glimpses it.If "mailboxes have feelings too" was ever a convincing argument, people would think my mailbox had been knighted. Meanwhile, other mailboxes in the neighborhood have developed a complex and are seeing therapists for flag-envy.Not only that, the ease of installation was comparable to butter melting on popcorn. Presto! It was up and commanding salutes. If only setting up all my furniture was as easy as this. Now mind you, this flag has done wonders for not only my curb appeal but my self-esteem as well. I've actually started beginning all my neighborhood conversations with, “Did you see my mailbox flag today?”If you ever lose your way home, just look for the house with the mailbox flag so ravishing, bears temporarily forget about honey and bees become poets. I mean, who needs GPS?So, invest in this flag and give your mailbox (and life) the glow-up it so rightfully deserves! It's not just a flag, it's a way of life! Five beaming stars for the Architectural Mailboxes 5285R-10 Replacement Flag, Red.

I like how it’s made of metal and installed very easily. But the mounting bracket used inside the mail box is plastic. I live in a cold part of northern Ontario and this plastic piece will eventually brake. So I will most likely drill two new holes and use a rivet gun to mount this flag.

Mounted easy enough. Sturdy for price. Had to put a couple drops of oil on the hinge as it was pretty still. Came scratched and have yet to hear back about a remedy.

This flag was the 3rd I've used on my mail box, first one was plastic that came with the box and after about 10 years or so it just crumpled into dusts under the Florida sun, 2nd one was a replacement I bought on Amazon, again it was plastic and after about 4-5 years the flag started to shrivel/fade and the mounting bracket gave out to the weather. I bought this flag afterwards and immediately knew I should've gone with this the first time, very sturdy material and the up/down swing gives me a very assuring feeling on it. I have a costume made mailbox due to HOA regulations, the actual mailbox is encased in stucco but the installation was still easy with 2x 2" wood nails, took less than 5 minutes.Overall 5* for the item consider the quality, price, easiness on installation.

So after spray painting my mail box my OLD PLASTIC RED FLAG crumbled in my hands. You cannot appreciate how well built this flag is. First of all this flag is NOT PLASTIC. It is totally metal and very sturdy. When I took it out of the package it was even well built in the sense of moving it from the up and down position. The other plus is the screws and nuts. I know this may not be big deal but the vendor included LOCK NUTs, which is fantastic. I cannot remember a vendor supplying lock nuts. Not the regular cheap regular nuts. Plus +++ for that as well.My old flag pivoted on one hole so I had to drill TWO newer holes (not a big deal) to mount this flag. So the DUCT tape you see on the inside is simply covering the old hole so rain water does not make its way in. Again no big deal.Update May/2023- Flag is still going strong. I had to re-paint the mailbox again and the flag came off very easy. While off I chose to hit it with a splash of bright red paint and it looks brand new. Pivot screw is still in great shape and has not given in to the elements.GREAT FLAG !!! Highly Recommend
