My kids had been begging for a similar unit at the sporting goods store that cost nearly double, so Santa got this one instead.First, we'll talk about assembly. This was not exceedingly hard, but I would advise using real tools (a 10mm wrench and an Allen bit) to put this together. With the included tools, it may take a long time. In total, I'd say I spent about 90 minutes putting this together by myself. With a helper, things would go much faster. All in all, it wasn't too frustrating, and the included instructions were decent but not stellar. Everything fit together well, and did not need coaxing. Now on to the game itself. My kids spent the next 2 or 3 hours straight playing this, and have continued to play with it daily since then. For them (age 8 and 10), this is adequately challenging, and the electronic scoring function keeps them excited to play (and beat each other). The net does a pretty decent job of keeping the balls inside of the unit unless a shot is truly wild. Scoring has worked perfectly, and the balls are better quality than I expected. They aren't thin rubber, but are more like regular mini-sized basketballs. The backboard is solid, and seems like it'll last. One downside is that your kids are bound to make a ton of noise playing this. We have it upstairs, and can hear balls clanging off the rims and backboard in the living room. If you have kids, you're probably already used to racket, though.
