MY shrimp swarmed these little wafers and they don't make a mess of the substrate.

I have a shrimp tank, female betta and a mystery snail. I don't need a lot of food but I like variety. I read the reviews on this item and decided to try it because shrimp are omnivores and I thought they'd like it.It is by far the favorite food in the tank so far. I don't often have feeding frenzies but this is the closest I've gotten. The mystery snail charges right over and hoovers up a lot, but the shrimp are happy to take the rest. The betta just watches (she gets bloodworms) but occasionally gets curious and nips around to see what the big deal is.Absolutely recommend! I use a boba straw to guide where the pellet goes (to a shrimp food dish) and just like advertised it begins to break apart and the tank residents DO take pieces and scurry off to eat sometimes, but will graze if there are just teeny bits left.

This food was not a favorite with the shrimp at first, but after a few days I noticed they have been eating it well. It fouled up the water at first, but after a water change, it seems to be a good choice.

This little disc is by far the favorite food of every occupant of my 50 gallon tank. Yo-Yo Loaches, Bettas, Rainbow Cichlid, German Blue Rams, Khuli Loaches, Chinese Algea Eater, just to name a few, go insane for these. I hide them in the substrate and plants or I float them on the top to make them literally hunt for it. I should’ve taken a video while they were first hunting them out, but I didn’t think about it until they were almost done and then I just took the picture. It’s a great treat and inexpensive. The disk is hard and stays hard when you let it sink to the bottom, but if it floats for a while on the top, you can grab it and squish it into a gazillion pieces and then all of the top feeders are in a feeding frenzy. I find this a really fun treat for the whole tank and myself as I enjoy watching them smell it out, thrash around it, stealing it from one another! When I do drop it into my shrimp tank, the little disks are so smelly that within five seconds they come out from their hiding in every direction running for it and again the shrimps take it and run from each other. It is so funny…. Give these little disks a try, you’re aquatic friends well thank you!

My shrimp (and my snails) love these and I rarely have any left over to take out the next day. They break apart into very small pieces once they've been in the water for a few minutes. This makes it easier for my little shrimp to eat it and it spreads out so they're not all stacking up to get to it.I feed them in a small dish so it breaking up isn't an issue, but if I dropped this on my substrate it would be a big mess that I would have to vacuum out. This breaks apart within a few minutes of being in the water and would fall in the gaps of anything but sand or a solid surface. This would likely cause a huge ammonia spike as it rots down there where nothing can reach it.Bottom line, I do recommend this food if you're feeding on sand, in a dish, or in a bare bottom tank. Otherwise, you'll need to gravel-vac a lot of it out every time to avoid it rotting and fouling the water.

I recently purchased Aqueon Omnivore Shrimp Disc Food for my aquarium, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results! My bottom feeders have taken an instant liking to it, and it’s been a game changer for their feeding routine. The pellets are perfectly sized and sink quickly, which is ideal for my shrimp and other bottom-dwelling friends. I love that the discs are formulated to provide a balanced diet, incorporating both plant and protein sources. It’s reassuring to know that I’m giving my pets the nutrients they need to thrive.Watching my shrimp eagerly munch on these discs is a joy—they dive right in and seem to enjoy every single bite. I’ve noticed that their coloration has improved since I started feeding them Aqueon, and their overall activity levels have increased, which is always a great sign.Additionally, I appreciate that the packaging is convenient and resealable, keeping the food fresh for longer. The 1.65-ounce size is perfect for my aquarium needs, and it lasts quite a while.Overall, I highly recommend Aqueon Omnivore Shrimp Disc Food to anyone with bottom feeders or shrimp. It provides excellent nutrition and is clearly a favorite among my aquatic pets. If you want happy and healthy shrimp, this is definitely a product you should try!

I have Neocaridina shrimp and they really like these. I put two discs in their tank at night. By morning they've eaten both. The shrimp seem to be thriving on them. I started out with just 10 shrimp and now there are at least 30 including many young shrimp.

I have a young colony of cherry shrimp. I think the pellets are too big for these little guys. I mean, can you 30-40 shrimp eat a single pellet at the same time? The pellets are HUGE for shrimp. Even for mature neocaridina.I shave the pellets into small bits and disperse them in the tank. The cherries swarm. They LOVE them. This is definitely in their top 3 favorite of the foods that I give them.

It does sink well but it spreads all around and in the substrate.

The product is not as advertised. It says safe for all shrimp, but it isnt safe at all. Seem to have killed few of my shrimps a day after adding the pellet. The shrimps werent too interested in the food .. they left it alone.. snails seem to like it. The left over just lies there and creates a huge mess. Looking at the ingredients it also has mention if copper.. not sure if that is the cause. However, Beware of this product. it is not eligible for returns!
