Junk! It does nothing! It's not worth the hassle to return it. I'll just be out the money.

I bought this siphon to have a slower siphon to use in a baby fry tank. It is slower and makes it easier to avoid vacuuming out fry. But it jams/ stops flowing very easily on any Java moss or other plant fragments. This is a good product otherwise

Did the job but was very messy and took several tries. I have a smaller aquarium (5 gal) so this was very hard to use. Maybe it works better if you have a tall and bigger aquarium?

I use this for a couple of small tanks and it works ok. You have to shake it pretty good to get the self prime to go but it does the job that I wanted for.

The tube and pump is bigger than by previous one. It suctions good but then again I just got it a month ago or so. But the pump is hard to pump with one hand if you don't have the strongest grip or wrists. It comes with a holding clip so it's very efficient. Important tip: keep in a dark lace or bacteria and mold will grow in it, clean after each use. No leaks so far everything sits tight and pumps with pretty good suction. The speed is pretty good too but then again depends on how much water is in the tank obviously. One inconvenience though is that the tube is bent on one side so it messes up the speed of the flow a bit but doesn't cause a major problem.

A wonderfully simple and easy to use tool for maintaining a healthy aquarium. Use this unit for both a 20 and 8 gallon aquarium. So simple, just place the hose clip on the side of your drain bucket, place the end of the hose into the clip to keep the hose from accidentally falling out of your bucket, place the vacuum tube into your aquarium and start the flow by gently shaking the tube up and down a few times until the flow starts. I pinch the drain hose to adjust the flow rate as I maneuver the vacuum tube around the substrate of my aquariums. The design of this unit also insures you do not accidentally suck up your tank inhabitants since the tube is intended to remove water and detritus from the substrate and not in the open water column. Highly recommended for great aquarium husbandry.

It works great! I have a 40 gallon tank and a 55 gallon tank, the 40 contains 3 hatchling turtles, the 55 contains a 1 year and 3 month old snapping turtle that I rescued. She is a pig lol makes such a mess, she's about 6 inches in diameter. Now this vacuum sucks up water nice and fast but not so fast that you can't get all the sludge out before it drains the entire tank empty. It sucks up some gravel just enough to loosen the sludge and syphon it out of the gravel then gravel falls back to the tank floor, not to mention it didn't clog up on me, not once. I am very pleased with this vacuum. I've tried others and they either empty the tank too fast, or they get clogged because the suction is too strong and it sucks the gravel ALL THE WAY UP the tube and gets clogged at the top.... (Which is extremely annoying) I've tried other vacuum's and most of them are all just terrible. Some won't even start syphoning! Even if you try and suck it through with your mouth. The size of this is perfect! The diameter of the tube opening is and inch and a half, where most others are 2 inches (unless you're using a mini) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VACUUM FOR ANY TYPE OF AQUARIUM! Whether you have fish, turtles, whatever.... If you have no substrate on the bottom of your tank it'll work, if you have gravel substrate, great! If you have even SAND I would still recommend this vacuum. It has a powerful suction but not so powerful that it'll suck all the sand out. Hope this review helps someone! I rely on reviews just as you all do, I try to leave my most honest opinion possible to ensure you guys have something to read so you can make your purchase with knowledge of the item you're buying!

es tal cual lo anuncian, tiene sistema antiregreso y funciona a la perfeccion vale la pena a comprar a diferencia de otras marcas que no tienen el sistema antiregreso y ademas un gancho para sujetarlo al acuario y no perder el control de la manguera

Excellent water syphon for lager fish tanks comes with a bucket clip too. The syphon is easy to put to get her and use long enough tube for even the tallest of tanks

works great, provided your empty the water into something that is lower than the tank level, if your sink is higher, you'd have to pump pretty much all the water out. I usually just pump it out the window into the garden, once you get a flow, it pretty much drains itself, but pump the bulb to get a good suction on the pebbles to clean them, than let the water flow by itself out. I had to pump it into the sink yesterday due to a winter storm, the flow did not go into the sink, had to keep pumping the bulb, arms are quite tired pumping every drop of water out of the tank. Will pump it into a bucket next time.
