I recently got this aquarium background and the black backdrop creates a sleek, professional appearance that makes my fish and plants stand out beautifully. The electrostatic adhesive works great—no glue, no mess, and it's super easy to apply and remove. If you need to adjust it, just peel it off and reapply without worrying about residue. The material feels thick and durable, and I love that it’s reusable. While it sticks best to smooth surfaces, a little water helps with adhesion, and any bubbles can be easily smoothed out with a card or squeegee. Overall, this is a fantastic, hassle-free way to upgrade your aquarium, and I highly recommend it!

I've been using actual black window tint for my aquarium backgrounds for years. This go round I thought I'd use actual aquarium stuff. It's not much different. This is thicker which is probably good. The one thing I don't like about this is that it's textured, and I really have no idea why. You can't see the texture once it's installed and it just makes installation more difficult. (It's easier to run a scraper over smooth tint, than the texture)Anyway, it's easy to cut and easy to install. Use plenty of windex, lay the tint/film on then use a scraper (credit card) to scrape it out. The film sticks once the liquid is squeezed out. Cut it oversize and then clean it up with a razor blade once it's stuck in place.

I found this hard to cut accurately since it's thick for a knife and hard to 'nail down' while cutting. It would be nice if there was a guide printed on this you could cut with then remove or similar, but it worked out OK in the end. I had to use my curved scissors, like aquascaping scissors, and had to make many tiny snips which made a mess.but once it was on, it looks great! And no tape needed to hold it on, but maybe that would have just been easier in the long run. Anyway, I'm satisfied now!

It's not difficult to install but does take a bit of patience. Cutting to the right size, spraying just the right amount of liquid, and taking time to really smooth out bubbles is most important. My tanks were already set up, so I had to prepare my tanks by making sure I covered any holes so soapy water didn't enter the tank or filter. There are bubbles but most wouldn't notice unless looking for them. I love that I can reapply as needed.

Well, I did use it but not for long. Didn’t like it.You use this like a window tint. Spray water on it and the aquarium glass , attach and squeegee out the bubbles. Thats the hard part, so do NOT spray too much water, use very little. Long story short, I took it off and purchased 3 pieces of black poster board from walmart.
