This aquarium is top quality!! Broke up my longer review into sections...1. Packaging. Very safe packaging. There was a special heavy-duty foam-blocks layer about four inches deep around every corner. Sustainable, actually. The box was pretty enough that it would be quite giftable.2. Set-up. Easy, good for a beginner or advanced. Box contains the heater, light, and filter. Pretty plug-&-play.3. Filter. If you're getting this set for baby shrimp, look into upgrading the filter foam to high density. This sponge filter is good, though. The Pat Mini submersible filter is quite good. Tip, submerse it totally to get the aeration feature going. Note that it is adjustable on the aeration level and the flow level. I've been quite happy with it. I appreciated that the filter has both a hook to adjust the height of use, along with the suction cups. Versatility seems to be built into it. Connecting the hook and suction cups to the Pat Mini is a little fiddly though. If you add a few dots of super glue to keep the height settings the way you like, before putting it in the tank, you might also gain confidence about it staying extra secure while hardscaping big rocks that can knock it out of place.4. Light. There are three settings; white, white with blue spectrum for growing plants, and blue-- moonlight. I use the plant lights during the day and the moonlight setting in the later evening. I recommend a programmable outlet timer, since the way that the lights work is more than just on-off. Unless you want to turn it off and on, a timer is a must for consistency for healthy plants. PAR level is adequate for low-moderate light need plants, which is what most people would need. Now, when I say low light, it's not dim at all; it's just that high-light plants get into a real of professional aquaculture you're likely not going to need for a shrimp set. Plus, shrimp don't care for that. The light really flatters the size of the tank.5. Light TIMING-- Since there are three settings, it took a little experimenting. Found a flow that worked:On - 10:00 am -- Turns on the WHITE lightOff - 10:01 am -- Passing to the next lightOn - 10:02 am -- Turns on the FULL SPECTRUM lightOff - 8:00 pm -- Turns off after 10 hours of grow-lightOn - 8:01 pm -- Passes to BLUE moonlight settingOff - 10:00 pm -- Off for the night6. Heater. I was impressed that it comes with multiple settings. I was expecting pre-set for this price, so it is a great value.7. Glass - Impeccable clarity. I did not expect to see a difference from other glass or acrylic tanks I have. Boy, was I shocked. Sometimes, I feel like it is a terrarium instead-- or that it is somehow clearer than looking at something in the air-world. It's a feast for the eyes.8. Details. The set comes with a bag of optional small feet to elevate the tank, which I have chosen to add. They come with a bit of adhesive foam. It will help you prevent water damage from moisture getting trapped under the bottom glass. The feet will match the color of the LEDDY light. E.g., black kit vs white kit.9. Electrical. I was a bit concerned this might come with Euro power outlets, being manufactured in Poland. Not so! I was prepared but pleasantly surprised they manufactured a US version. Have a power strip ready since you will need to plug in three things, at least.10. Customer service is excellent. I've emailed Aquael, and as a small business, the actual leadership of the company was copied on it and replied, asking if I had any questions about the hobby, offering support. How rare is that?I literally loved #1 so much that then I bought #2, and then I decided to go all in.My setup here--Substrate: Washed play sand, covered with rough slate gravel, terraced with dark Mexican river rock, peaks of Seiryu stone; top-dressing of Fluval stratum aquarium soil.Plants: Easy/low-moderate light. Marimo moss balls, hornwort, Java moss sewn onto Sweetgum balls and onto driftwood bonsai, Java moss glues onto Seiryu stone, Anubias nana petite 'Golden', variety of floating plants including Amazon frogbit, dwarf water lettuce, Velvet watermoss.Stocking: Each tank holding a different color of ornamental cherry shrimp, 5 in each, to start the first generation. + I have two small $12 fog machines running off tank water to create a misty fog at the surface.I took the time to write this because as a small company, I know they face a lot of competition from big companies copying their design. I could have paid less for a similar-looking shrimp tank from the big-box pet stores, but I wanted a good-quality build, and I liked that they're a small business. The quality though? The glass clarity is astounding. Enough to make a simple set-up look like art.So, this is a frameless tank. Another option I considered is their rimless version of this tank, a step up. Basically rimless means that instead of having glass that meets at the corners, the edge is a rounded continuously as one bending sheet of glass, all the way around. I decided to stay with frameless and not go to Aquael's next level (rimless), and I'm quite happy with these. With this price for the kit-- a really good value over buying everything individually-- I felt free to splurge and buy more of them, which I probably would not have done if I went with the rimless. In the event Aquael sees this review, big thanks for an excellent product. What they've made is capable of elevates "fish tank" to "aquarium".

We bought this tank as an upgrade for our betta fish. The version is 20L and it looks like he has a lot of space to swim. The nano tanks looks amazing with or without lighting! My daughter loves this and prefers it to our Biorb Life clear tank. She picked the castle from Petsathome.Pros: Lighting is very amazing! 3 settings are enough for us. We usually like the blue light setting and turn it on in the evening for a couple of hours only.Filter is quiet, hardly hear the sound of the pump. Flow is adjustable, currently we set at minimum flow.Heater: easy to use, preset at 25 (i tested this with two thermometers).Glass: clear green colour. Light to carry.Very easy to set up and maintain.Extremely value for money!Cons:Heater: it's ok to use for Betta fish. But I would prefer an option to change the temp should I use this tank for another type of fish that doesnt want as warm as 25 degreeFilter: would be better if it comes with instructions! I'm going to email Aquael for one to make sure I have set it up correctly.Plugs: EU plugs so you need to have a socket that can accommodate 3 EU plugs. This is not a problem for us as the socket we are using is suitable for both EU and UK plugsOverall we think this is a very stylish tank and value for money (we didnt buy this on offer) compared to many other tanks.
