About this item

  • [Multi-Ecosystem Support with Matter] An Aqara Zigbee 3.0 Hub is required (except Camera Hub G2H) and sold separately. When using an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub (except the Camera Hub G2H pro), the Presence Sensor FP1E features Matter-over-bridge support and is also compatible with major third-party platforms, like Homekit, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey. (Note:only supports connectivity with Aqara Hub but not other brands hubs)
  • [mmWave Radar for Accurate Detection & Wide Coverage] Based on mmWave technology, the Presence Sensor FP1E achieves more precise detection compared to most PIR motion sensors. It can detect subtle movements of stationary individuals, preventing false reports in cases of inactivity. Additionally, it reduces response delay, ensuring faster and more immersive automation triggers. It enables a 120° field of view (can reach 180° in close range), up to 6m, covering an area of 35 ㎡, enough to monitor a room in your home.
  • [Enhanced Precision with AI Technology] Empowered by Aqara Lab's AI technology, the FP1E can proactively identify and eliminate interference sources like small pets in a space to prevent false alarms. In addition, the AI Spatial Learning capabilities allow the presence sensor FP1E to autonomously to adapt its detection sensitivity to your room, enhancing detection accuracy
  • [Easy to set up & Installation ] Simply plug the FP1E into a 5V/1A DC adapter (not included) for quick and easy setup in minutes. An Aqara Zigbee 3.0 Hub is required (not included). Its intuitive APP interface makes it easy to use without having to worry about adjusting sensitivity or dealing with sources of interference in your space. Magnetic and adhesive brackets make it easy to mount on a wall, ceiling, or corner.
  • [Smart Automation with Detection of Moving and Still Status ] Use it with other Aqara devices for smart automations. The Presence Sensor FP1E accurately detects a human's presence, whether moving or still, within a space, as well as the duration of their status. Unlocking a wide range of automation possibilities triggered by moving/still (Aqara Home app exclusive feature). For exemple, the FP1E works as a reminder of prolonged sitting: if still detected for over 30 min, then send a notification, and change color of light strip.

Good job to Home Assistant on supporting it natively so I don't have to purchase the hub. Works perfectly!

Passt so grade ebend.

This is a great device, it exceeded my expectations in every way. I was finally able to solve my problem with bathroom light turning off while I'm still in it taking a shower. So far there wasn't a single time when it would fail or see a ghosts. I was able to pair it with my Aqara m2 hub from the first attempt, the setup process is extremely easy, you just press a few buttons an that's it. And then I've exposed it to Hubitat C-8 via generic matter bridge. Unlike motion sensor automations you don't need to set any delays, it just always tells you if there's someone in the room or not. On the negative side I don't like that it's hardwired, I would prefer a detachable cable because if it fails I'm going to lose a $50 investment. Currently it also reacts to my cat entering the room but I'm hoping that a couple of AI runs or repositioning will solve that problem. Overall I'm very happy with this device, will probably buy more and patiently waiting for FP2E.

(Edit: 10/04/24) This month’s z2m update brought support for the FP1E. Now I have the device directly on my main Zigbee network in Home Assistant. It works great.I was easily able to pair this Aqara FP1E Presense Sensor to my M3 Hub, just followed the prompt when adding a new device. I was then able to see my Sensor in the Matter Integration that the M3 is a bridge for in Home Assistant. I set up an automation the when presense had changed from any state to clear for greater than 1 minute, to turn off the lights (if already on) in the room I have the sensor in. So far so good. I am however looking forward to when zigbee2mqtt and/or ZHA support this Zigbee device, I am very interested in seeing what is controllable/observable. I had been able to easily pair the FP1E to my z2m network, but at time of writing, it's not yet a supported device. All in all though, good sensor so far. Detects me, totally (maybe) a human, but not my cats. Setting the range of the sensor was easy too, a slidable scale within the Aqara app. And the AI/machine learning "reset" function cleared a clear room and hopefully accounted for all that it is supposed to.

This presence sensor works flawlessly. I am currently using three other presence sensors in my smart home. None work as well as the FP1E. I get false detections (Ghosts) with the other sensors I own. The FP1E has yet to give me a false detection. I bought this sensor to replace a motion sensor I have in my kitchen. Once calibrated the sensor has worked seamlessly! Very easy to install, and location is key with this type of sensor! The price is reasonable, however I do wish it was a little bit less expensive, because I would like to buy three more!! Connection to my aqara hub was extremely easy and works well with Alexa and Home Assistant! Highly recommend! If you are in the market for a presence sensor, look no further!!

It is erroneous to say this sensor is Zigbee 3 compatible or HomeKit compatible UNLESS you have an Aqara hub. When I added the sensor by itself to my SmartThings system, it showed up as a "Zigbee Connect thing" or some generic nonsense like that. It did nothing.I thought the Zigbee 3 note meant I could use this with HomeKit through SmartThings, but no. It specifically says "Requires Aqara Zigbee 3.0 HUB " and they mean it. Once I bought the cheapest Aqara hub (around $29 when I got it), it still took some work and updating firmware to get it all working, but now it is flawless; I have a simple sensor that will turn lights off when I am not in my office. Also, I don't think this will work in “HomeKit compatible" mode in the Aqara app. I tried it, but the sensor would never pair with the hub. Then when I redid it in the Aqara app with an account (not HomeKit compatible mode), I was notified to update firmware, and things all worked. Once it was set up, it worked great. But the Zigbee 3 note is really about what Aqara hub to get, not hubs in general. So, honestly, I would recommend this if you have an Aqara Zigbee 3 hub or you just add in to the cost the extra for the USB stick Aqara hub. It's an actual "presence sensor" not just motion detection.

I know the description says it requires an Aqara hub, but it being Zigbee 3.0, I assumed it would work with other platforms. People are working on it for other platforms, but I wish I had the earlier FP1 or FP2 models, which are supported by non-Aqara hubs.I will update my review if/when support is available in Zigbee2MQTT.
