A quality item for home automation. I continue to build on things yearly to enhance my productivity at home. Easy to sync to the hub, interfaces with Apple HomeKit seamlessly. Mounting or placement of the device is very simple and sturdy.

Bought a couple of these to use with Home Assistant. One paired and works great so I set it up where I needed it. The other paired fine but only triggered once and then seemingly just stopped working so I decided to see if I could pull the batteries out and restart the device. Well to get the batteries out you have to remove the bottom cover and then (in tiny print) it tells you to level a specific spot to pull a little container that houses the batteries out. I tried a small plastic pick, a screw driver, a pocket knife, nothing was working so I applied a little more force and the plastic battery tray started to crack. After a little more convincing the tray came out but now it's broken and the plastic on the bottom of the sensor is misshapen. Why in the world would you not just make the bottom screw on our at least make the battery tray rotate to lock into place? Having to pry it out and ultimately break the thing is ridiculous. I did manage to get it back together and the status light came on, it showed triggered once again turning on my lights and hasn't worked again since, so the whole battery struggle was for nothing and now I'm stuck with a broken sensor that I'm guessing I can't retrun...

Purchased this motion detector for use with HomeKit and Hue lights. So far the sensor has worked great with quick response time, and prompt HomeKit integration.

I purchased these to start utilizing my current home automation lighting to include motion related automation to take my system/setup to another level. These didn't disappoint. Quick response time & accuracy when you get them configured properly.

Great sensor to make your home smarter! I have other Aqara products and really like them all. This motion sensor is so incredibly fast to react. I have the Aqara H2 Hub, but I prefer to have my Amazon Echo make the announcements. Setting up the device is quick and easy. The instructions are great and easy to understand. It basically does everything for you. And of course, connecting to an Echo device is so simple. Great product and a good price. I couldn't recommend the Aqara motion sensor enough along with all their products. They seem seamlessly together and more importantly, work great with Echo devices!

I bought this because I wanted to try it out with Home Assistant. So, I'm running a Raspberry Pi 5 with Home Assistant. I also have the SkyConnect Zigbee/Matter (or is it Thread? it confuses me) antenna connected to the Raspberry Pi running Home Assistant.I enabled pairing mode on the Aqara sensor and performed a search on Home Assistant. It found the sensor right away. I was able to configure a few testing Automations like turning on my Hue lights (I also have a Philips Hue bridge with Hue lights around the house) in the Living Room. Pretty neat having that cross product functionality. The motion sensor is responds quickly and is accurate. It also has a light sensor, but I don't use that functionality; at least not yet. It's zigbee 3.0 but I'm not sure if it is upgradable to Matter in the future.I plan to use this in the kitchen for a night light sensor for under the cabinet LED lights. I think it will work great with Home Assistant, WLED, and BTF light strips under the cabinet. I just have to create an automation that turns on the light strips when motion is detected during a specific time frame. Easy peazy!

I love this! I had another one that I accidentally dropped and it broke so I decided to buy a new one. I have it set up with home assistant where if the room is a certain amount of dark and it detects movement, it will turn on lights automatically. Highly recommend if for Home Assistant!

You may need to decrease their level sensitivity to the lowest setting, especially if your front lawn has different ground levels.

Impressively small footprint allowing easy installation by attaching a small amount of blue tack or sticky tape to the underbody. Good build quality, with strong plastic body. Performance wise, I have 2 linked with an Aqara Hub. The Aqara app connected immediately, the firmware can be updated from time to time when available. Performance wise the motion sensing and light level readings are accurate and truly effective. Highly recommended piece of kit for out of the box home security.

Aqara is known for providing consumers high quality products at affordable prices. The P1 Motion Sensor doesn’t disappoint. The P1 Motion Sensor has a 5 year battery life and provides us with the ability to choose detection intervals. This is new for Aqara users as we did not have with the original model. The Blue trigger indicator light can now be disabled if desired. I can see this being great if you have this in a bedroom, office or Hallway. Finally, we also have the option to adjust the sensitivity of the sensor from low, medium or high. Low, means you need to be closer to the unit for detection to activate. Of course the higher the sensitivity the farther it will detect. Aqara has confirmed this sensor will also be receiving Matter support when rolled out.The product is HomeKit compatible and has very easy integration. To have this device added into HomeKit you will need an Aqara Hub, which I highly recommend the Aqara M1S.The only con to this device is that is not powered by Thread. Again, this is only a small gripe, overall another excellent product by Aqara.
