Small but works, 3 car garage and use it on the far end linked to my kasa motion sensor switch.Just wished it didn't have to have a hub.

This is great since I want a light switch to have a motion sensor but the placement of that switch doesn't fully capture the area that I want to be tracking. I use 2 of these in my garage so that any movement anywhere in the garage will turn on the lights. I also use this outside since my light switch is inside the house, but I want motion sensing outside of the house. Very easy to setup and battery seems to last a long time.

The Tapo sub-1GHz iot system is great - great utility and great value. I now have several environmental sensors, buttons, water leak detectors and motion sensors through our two storey home and they work great. Beware that things like large metal objects (our external doors) and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi interference can still affect systems like this, so be careful with your placement. However, it's so cheap to just buy another hub to solve any persistent connectivity issues that it's really not a big deal. Also, Wi-Fi, even with a great mesh system, is less reliable than sub-1GHz.My bottom line? This is a great system to invest in. Plus, it complements Tapo's other (Wi-Fi) smart devices.

I ordered this for my front door and the hub arrived a couple weeks after the sensor. I already had Kasa products and the Tapo app so it only took about a minute to add to the app. I set up the sensor alerts for overnight and chose the time frame, chime and volume. I also chose to turn on all the lights in my home if the door was opened during that time frame. The only thing I had to adjust slightly was the double sided tape on the back and that had to do with the type of trim around my door frame. Easy to install and set up.

These do require buy the hub but otherwise are great sensors to add for smart automations. I’ll interested to see how long the battery lasts. It says can be attached magnetically but does not come w magnet from what I can determine. Easy to use the double sided tape and they are lightweight.

I am a hard person to impress BUT these Tapo products are amazing. First off make sure you have a Tapo Hub or motion sensor will NOT work! I have Kasa products all over my house and I am so glad Tapos app integrates with kasa devices easily! I needed this motion sensor to turn on some lights and kasa did not offer a motion sensor option? Tapo motion sensor s are great! Very quick response time and what makes them great is the amazing app. Alot of work went into this user friendly app.I am 60 years old and could figure it out easily I highly recommend Kasa and Tapo devices for your home Great products

This hub does not work with the Tapo Door Bell. You cannot pair it or set any smart actions if someone presses the doorbell. I was hoping to use it as a second and third chime for a moderately large home. But only works with sensors and other items. Its a bit expensive though to just be a hub and being limited to some items is not so great.Does get pretty loud but the alarm choices are not so great either.Solidly built and has survived being removed from the socket by my dogs.No battery required as it plugs into the power outlet.Just disappointed it cant be used with the door bell.

Small size but works well. My only co cern is that it is powered by a small battery. I am not sure how long the power will last especially because there is no way to only power it during certain times of the day. Even though it operates on LoRa, a wired power supply would have been better.

I wanted to be able to actuate lamps on Kasa smart plugs, in two rooms remote to where we came down the stairs. I spent a few weeks screwing around with a PIR sensor and an esp32 and got it working until I fired up the esp's WiFi, which generated spurious triggers whenever there was WiFi activity. Before going down an arduous path of noise detection and isolation I decided to roll the dice on this sensor and a tapo hub. Total investment of $30 on black Friday deals. Works like a friggin charm. Took less than 5min to set up and has more flexibility than what I had come up with. I just semi-regret not starting here in the first place. While I learned a lot, I also wasted a lot of time.Kudos to TP-Link for integrating the Kasa stuff with the tapo app. Now, if they'd just add MQTT functionality into their hub/app it would be perfect.
