Really happy with this. It's thick material and seems very durable. Good manufacturing processs -- doesn't have excess material around the sharp edges or cutouts. I'd buy this again if I need another one for some other project.

Attached to a 2inch PVC threadxslip connector with no problem. Installed it into the plumbing of my pond with no difficulty. The plastic looks like quality and is thick. This will definitely keep the Koi from getting sucked into the pump.

Seems to work well. Use it on a siphon pipe for my pond. Just screwed it onto a short piece of PVC that then attached to a check valve. So far it was done just fine.

Works fine but the edges are sharp, had to sand them down for my koi.

This was exactly what I had been looking for quite a while to be able to trade out with the existing one covering the intake pipe in my pond. It was less that half the price of what I had seen locally. I only wish the openings weren't quite so large since I have to continually cover it with a smaller mesh net and change that frequently to keep debris from getting into the pump. It serves the purpose in my small pond, but would be great to have it more maintenance free with smaller holes.

I was working on our new Royal Blue Riverbanker (highbanker) for Placer Mining when I started working on an idea for a simple and cheaper version of a footvalve for the 2" pump intake hose. I found a 2" sump pump check valve at Loew's for $20.00 which had a rubber hose sleeve at each end of the check valve connected by stainless hose clamps. The uphill side of the check valve with the hose connected directly to my intake hose. I then removed the downhill sleeve from the check valve. Using some Black ABS Cement I then glued the 2" opening of the strainer directly to the check valve for a perfect fit. As with all foot valves for dredging or highbanking, I recommend covering the entire strainer with very fine screen to keep all fine junk out of your pump. This setup works perfectly and will save you some money rather than buy much more expensive units from you know who. We wish you a very safe and prosperous Gold Season in 2011 from Royal Blue River Moss, "It's Just a Better Gold Getter"!!! See you on Ebay!!!! Gary C.
