Saw several reviews about spot welds breaking and not manufactured well. Mine came with the same spot welds so I added a few welds on the threaded outlet as well as the screen to keep everything together. Some brake cleaner and a rattle can coat of paint should keep it in decent shape for the $30 cost.

Worked good! The concept makes sense so as not to plug the intake of the pump. It’s installed on a pond pump that is full of leaves, so we installed this screen and added an additional net to keep the small debris from getting in the pump. It screwed right on with a 2” bung. A little loose, but I don’t think it affects the performance. If another job like this came up, this item would be in the design.

spot welding was limited to only a few areas. it has not broken and it was not damaged but could use more welding make more durable

This was in the box with no wrapping like other parts we had ordered. It was dented, scuffed up and the bottom was badly scratched. Would not buy again.

Seems solidly constructed although it has been only tested in limited use so far. Much more durable than plastic strainer that was included in the pump package I purchased.
