Looks great and is exactly what I wanted, appearance-wise. In general it is well-designed and perfect for use on our deck. I was disappointed that I could not find an assembly video. There's just no excuse for not offering one with something this complicated. The directions are helpful but leave a lot to be desired. All the parts were in the box (nothing was missing, thank goodness). Paint is missing on part of one of the posts (I will contact the manufacturer today) and the fabric on one of the roller shades was frayed around the edge. The cross bars that the roller shades attach to on the bottom are a little flimsy and will easily break. They should be thicker and either in 3 sections rather than 2, or with an added support in the middle for additional strength. My husband is going to figure out some ways to provide additional support for the structure -- but again, in general we are very happy with this purchase.

Slight missing part but the seller has given me a discount and part on the way. Overall the pergola is study. And yes it is very nice. seller responded quickly to take care of the situation. Definitely recommend this

Wow- read all reviews! the instructions are just like everyone is saying, confusing! Took me about 8 hours trying decipher- even pictures are mislabeled and instructions manual was not staples together in sequence. Smh!!! Numerous defects in parts, from dented pieces to poor painting and alignment with screw holes to mis-stitched canopy with two holes..plastic caps do not stay in on legs so I’m sure this will rust soon!! need I mention this is super flimsy! Not sure this is worth $499. I would return this is I would have purchased locally! Let’s see how long it lasts- poles are already leaning and not sturdy. Looks “nice” when you have it together ,but quality is lacking in so many ways. PS: you will need a power drill to help with the misaligned screw holes- impossible to drive in with the screwdriver provided. Contacting seller for a replacement canopy. Two random holes in not acceptable- will fall apart easily

Putting together the pergola itself took a couple of hours... once we got to the fabric canopy it became a bit tricky. We messed up a couple of time and had to re-do some steps, the instructions are not super clear so make sure to pay very close attention to direction of screw holes, the rolling thing at the top all facing in the same direction, etc. Once put together we love it! It seems very sturdy, it has stood up to a few very heavy rain storms and no issues so far!

On picture it looks very functional, in reality it’s cheap material.The roof canopy is constructed out of two ½” hollow pipes that are loosely attached to each other. When you move the canopy back. The entire canopy falls off, and you would need to reassemble them.The posts are 3” x 3” hollow constructed out of two pieces attached together with ½” screws.I’m a contractor so in order to reinforce it I had to cut 2x12 pressure treated lumber into 2 x ½” to fit inside the posts, by the time I went to Home Depot got the lumber a strong wind bent the whole thing (wasted another $70 on lumber)I purchased two of them, I really liked the design and function, unfortunately like many items today they come from cheap China and are worthless.The instructions are very unclear, took me two and half hours to assemble with power tools, and a helper. Don’t even try to use the supplied Allen keys, unless you want to kill a whole day.Requested a return label from amazon and so far, received a Return Authorization Slip without a prepaid label, going to waste more time calling Amazon to make sure I get a prepaid return label. Shipping this garbage will be more expensive than the item itself.

I need shelter from the sun but our umbrella bit the dust last year, and I’ve been really wanting more shade for our deck. I considered doing a DIY awning with piping and canvas, but the cost and time wasn’t worth it. I’ve seen the pergolas in the big box stores and really liked the look. So I measured the deck area and started looking on Amazon. It took forever to find one that would fit the area. And then I found this one, and because it actually had a picture with measurements that helped all the more. It also had pull down shades and everything I was looking for. Except reviews. 😳 but out of all the other ones I looked at, this one fit and had the best pics of measurements. And was really around the same price as all the others. So I ordered it and it arrived I think about a week. My husband put it together and it took him a little over an hour, until he did the retractable awning… that took a bit of time because at that point the instructions got a bit confusing… but after some trial and error we figured it out. We did end up loosing one of the slider hooks that lock it in place, and when I contacted the company they were quick to respond and the replacement arrived within two days. The pergola frame itself was a little low and couldn’t clear the door so my husband made 4” risers for it. It’s secured to our deck. And when the wind blows it stays put. I’m absolutely very satisfied and happy with this. I feel like I’m up in a tree house. My neighbors have all come to see it. We had rain the first night we put it up and the awning was closed, but when I opened it the next day there was no water trapped in the folds due to the little drip holes they have in there. Again I absolutely love this and extremely happy with our purchase!!!UPDATE: it rained yesterday and we had the awning open and everything under it stayed dried!You will not regret buying this product!!!
