Came with a jammed battery compartment screw. Had a proper screw driver with the correct size phillips tip. Afriad to put too much pressure trying to turn the tiny screw for fear of stripping it. Returned to Amazon and bought a Plusivo multimeter for $14.99. that came numerous attachments and works just fine.

When I got my first one, the screw to the battery door was stuck, I can't even open the battery door to put the battery in. So I asked for a replacement, and the replacement is much better, easily unscrew. so there is some quality escapement, just exchange it if that's the case. The reading is easy to read, just like most of the other Multimeter. The reading is pretty accurate for the voltage readings.

I'm torn between 4 and 5 stars.PRO: Price. Dirt cheap for a decent multi-tester.PRO: Audible continuity tester. There's an OHM setting that features a tone when there's continuity. I like that.PRO: Compact footprint. You get a lot in a small space.PRO: The two probes are pretty beefy and connect tightly to the device.PRO: The kickstand is a nice touch.CON: The probes will not fit into an electrical outlet. There's only about a 1/4" or less of metal exposed on the end of the probe before the thicker plastic begins so you can't stab an electrical outlet from the front. There needed to be an inch at least to do that. The Seller's product photo does show a different style of probe with more exposed metal. Do I need to cut the plastic back? There is no mention of this in the instructions.CON: No carrying case!CON: Not ruggedized. There's no rubber on the case so if you drop it, it's likely going to suffer internal injuries.I'm keeping a 5-Star rating on this because for someone working at a bench on a circuit board this will get the job done nicely on a tight budget. But I don't think I'd use it for residential electrical work (house wiring), even as a homeowner, although I'm sure a professional electrician would have other testers better suited for troubleshooting electrical circuits. So yeah, nice multi-tester!

I’ve always used analog multimeters due to working on older homes and you never know when something might not be wired correctly. Analog can take punishment; digital has a fuse, which if the settings aren’t done correctly, can be blown. But as I’ve gotten older, I find a digital display is much easier to read. So, I decided to give this one a try. I fired it up right away and put it through the motions. It’s lightweight, the leads seem good quality. I have only one gripe so far – the screw for the batter compartment. Small is fine. But the quality of the screw… given how often it is necessary to swap out batteries on digital multimeters I would have preferred a more robust screw. It’s not a deal breaker on getting this unit, but I’m super careful about using the right size screwdriver head to screw. Someone in a rush will strip this screw in no time. So I urge being very patient with it or do like I did and swap it out with a quality screw. But otherwise, this digital multimeter does exactly what I need it to. Decently large display readout. Fits into a pocket. Will it last forever? Nope. But if for some reason I fry the unit, at least I didn’t spend $100+ on a really good one. So for a part-timer like myself this is a good option. Just be gentle with that battery compartment screw.Pros• Nice, big digital readout• Quality leads which don’t slip out• Lightweight and fits into my pocketCons• Battery compartment screw is a bit cheap and flimsyOverall, I needed an inexpensive digital multimeter because my eyes have been changing. This fit the bill!
