My number one priority was to find the proper fit. The brace is available in several sizes. It took me a little while to get used to tying it up, but when I did, it was simple. My usual athletic shoes fit the brace snugly without feeling overly tight. It felt stiff at first, which was to be anticipated given the additional support bars. But after wearing it for a while, I noticed that it became more comfortable. I appreciate that the material is breathable; unlike some other braces I I have worn my foot did not become sweaty and itching. I have worn it for extended periods of time, both walking around and working at my desk, and it has not bothered me.

I put at least 12000 steps on a day while wearing this. It's comfortable and the ability to adjust the tightness is good. My only issue is the sewing on the bottom came apart in the middle. The thicker edges stayed together so far but the thread is coming out of the bottom of the back right above the heel opening. The support strips stay in place. It's very breathable, my ankle isn't sweating with this on.

I’m looking for a brace that resists supination rolling of right ankle when walking on soft ground and with right leg on the down hill side of a slope. And… to avoid pressure over the small bones on the top of the foot due to arthritis pain in the bones. Also, needs to be comfortable enough with shoe or boot to wear 8hrs. What seems to work best for resisting ankle roll are straps attached under heel and pulling straight up over the ankle bones on either side, and forward straps as long as they do not put pressure on top bones of the foot. So straps resist rolling of ankle to some degree. None of the braces I tried prevented rolling. A wide base neutral interior orthotic flat bottomed shoe without any brace does better than a standard shoe and any brace. An orthotic shoe and a comfortable brace may be optimal. This brace has metal stiffeners in the heel straps, fits okay in a shoe, top of foot issues not too bad, could wear about 4hrs before it got sore and needed to be removed. Moderately difficult to put on and lace up.

Not only is this ankle brace so easy to put on and take off but I found that its a lot more stable than my original one that is more like a compression sleeve. What I love about this is it does act like a compression sleeve but it also gives me that extra stability that I need and want. I recently had to have surgery on my ankle and this not only helped while my incisions were healing, but I was able to start walking faster and better with this brace. I was told light pressure when I walk and with this brace, I constantly felt as though my ankle was always in the correct position and gave me the support to help me heal faster. Not to mention, its completely washable too.

After putting it on, I've had really good relief in strained ankle. Should have bought it earlier. I was able to walk with much more ease than without it. Plastic supports were better for me since metal support was rubbing my leg the wrong way.Upsides: relieves ankle strain, firm and simple build, fits well, allows tight bracing.Downside: putting it on and off requires fidgeting with the shoelaces, and might require some force. Possibly my own skill issue.
