So I got a box of these a little while ago and they worked fine, my outside Lights often disconnected which was annoying, and sometimes one of the indoor ones would disconnect but it wasn't too bad. I just got a second box and they are horrendous. I set them up and in the app the 4 I already had disappeared, Alexa still worked them but when I connected these 2 new ones the ones that I already had all disconnected and I needed to re-do them through the app. Then all of that taken care of, I have had these for a few days now and the 2 new ones constantly disconnect. Like they don't stay connected for more than one use, I have to unplug and replug them in everything I try to do an Alexa command. The whole point is like...not having to physically do anything. I'm debating returning every single one and I think one more day of the 2 new ones not working might make me do so.Also these go through the Cloud Intelligence app and not the app for the company which made set up fairly confusing. It's a Alexa skill that you have to enable and not through the device set up.

I made a mistake in my original review. This device worked well to connect, configure and include into Alexa. Installing this product is very close to all of the smart plugs and devices. Even if you are connecting directly to Alexa, you connect to the device then connect device to the wifi then connect to the cloud services. That cloud service connects the device to your "control" device to turn it on or off. In my case it is either the "Cloud Intelligence" phone app or Alexa. IF there is an interruption in the internet, the device cannot be controlled over wifi, but there is a button on the side to manually turn the plug on or off. WHAT I NOW KNOW is that IF there is an interruption and recovery of the internet, this device recovers much better than than others I've used in the past and I will buy more in the future if I need them.

For being an IT professional of 18~ years, I've never actually had Wi-Fi smart plugs before (just never had a need). That day changed this summer, having two cats now and going on a long vacation with my fiancé. I needed a means to power on some devices for the cats when I wasn't home, as well as some lights (just to make it look like people were home). I found these Wi-Fi plugs here on Amazon. They were incredibly affordable, so I bit the bullet. When they arrived, I was surprised to see they were only 2.4Ghz compatible. I know they are clearly labeled as such. But honestly, I didn't read that. I kind of expected something like this in 2022 to be 5Ghz compatible without needing to even read or worry about that. Still, it is a minor complaint I have about them.Moving on, I found these things awfully difficult to initially setup. I tried to go about setting them up with Alexa first. Alexa had me download the wrong or outdated app by Amysen. I wasted a good hour trying to get them to work, until I realized the poor instructions had a completely different app. The correct app is "Smart Life". Once I got that figured out, I had all the plugs set up, and eventually set them up with Alexa. The app and plugs work great. I don't know what I was missing until having these, I love being able to tell Alexa to turn my lights on and off for work! They seem well built, and had no issues providing power to a small windowed AC unit in our living room as well (just check your amperage). My other complaint about these, they don't seemed to have any type of encryption or security on them at all. I wonder about how easy it would be to hack these plugs, and it is a genuine concern to have.Overall, I do love these plugs, and recommend them. I dock a star largely for the frustrating setup and lack of security. Again, it's 2022 at the time of writing this. I feel something like this should be plug and play, and it seems I had to do a bit of troubleshooting to get them working, and found out I had the wrong app. Just be weary of the 2.4Ghz support and lack of security if buying. I wouldn't use them for anything very important. They work great for lights, lamps, and small appliances the most.

Over the past several years I have been working with home automation products. I have tried a few makes of devices, SmartThings, several WeMo devices and some iDevices. Now these. Why? They're cheap & they're advertised as working with my "Alexa". Until this week, I never knew much about hooking up all this stuff with mysterious, black Amazonian cylinder, relying instead on the iPhone applications. The devices mentioned above tend to be a little flakey; losing connections, not responding, you know the usual stuff. So, I figured, "how much worse can this get?". Let this WeMo stuff lock my doors??? FORGET IT!Sooo...I ordered a set of these mini outlet devices. For about $10 each, how bad could it be? Wow, was I surprised!!! I had them set up and working through my little Amazonian friend in under 15 minutes. Oh, yes, that's three units up and working 100% within 15 minutes! Working in concert with the other stuff. No pain. No fuss. No muss. And reliable? Heck yeah!!! Alexa isn't telling me "A device is not responding". They're working absolutely perfectly! I'll buy these next time and the time after that and will absolutely recommend them without any reservations.I should mention that my router is a 2.4G/5G unit and I utilize band-steering, so 2.4G devices will home in on the 2.4G network and the 5G compatible devices will seek that network. These mini outlet units work wonderfully in my situation. If you do NOT have a 2.4G capable network, this will NOT be the device for you. For me, it's nothing short of totally awesome!
