My head snapped 90* when I was walking past one of these units at my local Lowe's hardware and I bought one on a whim. I installed it once home and was impressed by the quality of the unit, the LED light's brightness and the ease by which it installed. There ARE cords that already come with these but usually cost a premium and these allow you to upgrade your current lines.So I ordered two more from Amazon and upgraded my remaining cords used when camping or working in the yard. They're a great little troubleshooter when/if someone unplugs your line from a camper area or someone trips over a line when working in the yard.

Heavy duty socket and plug. Positive screw capture on bare wires you can really snug them down for a tight connection without concern for stripping. Strain relief opening has insert that can be removed for larger diameter cords. The fact they glow green made my day.Also, the screws are open to the max, so you just have to insert wires and tighten securely. I did cut one of my 100' cords in half and used these kits to make 2 more manageable 50' extensions. Did I say they glow green?Screws are color coded so refer to instructions and follow them to be sure, but this is what I did.green=green ground wirecopper=black/hotsilver=white

I have an old extension cord and the ends have seen better days however the wire was in good condition - I really like the idea of having lights at both ends of the plugs - seems so simple to include (just a small LED is required). Well after wired it up it worked great and I like the feel and the quality. It is recommended for 18/3 to 12/3 wire - just in case you need to know. These are also rated at 15 amps which is the most common. Don't hesitate to purchase these - they will not disappoint.

These are great just as good if not better then the factory ones as they are brighter and if cord gets damaged you can reuse them ! I purchased the more expensive ones and there’s is No difference!

Bought for my 12 ga extension cord. It went together very nice but it's not weather tight. Have to keep it out of any puddles or wet grass. It has a very nice light showing that there is power to the plug and very visible.

I had a bad plug head and I needed it to be replaced. I purchased this because I liked the fact that it was a simple replacement and that it has a gree light to indicate power. If I had to say something negative about this, I would say that it does not feel very heavy-duty. it would be nice if it felt like it was a little stronger plastic or if it had a rubber coating.

I already bought 10 of these, and I am buying another 5. They are easy to install, and I love the fact that they light up when they are energized (very helpful when you put them on long extension cords). They are also sturdy and long-lasting. I bought the first ones 18 months ago, and they've stood up to that much heavy-duty use. Not cheap, but high quality. I definitely recommend them.
