Great surface for pastel painting! Love the gray color as an underpainting color, too! Great price!

Love the quality. Not sure why they are so pricey. Will look for cheaper alternatives as a new artist, I will need many for practicing!

I bought this for my husband. He really liked the way the pastels went on and says it's good quality. He bought the smallest one because he wasn't sure if he would like it. Well, he did and said he would buy some of all sizes if the price weren't so high. So, we gave these four stars because of price.

If you think this is only for pastels, think again. Though we do paint in pastels in our family, this board we have found to be exceptional for acrylics. Cuts painting time down as colors hold and can easily build. The texture is smooth it how it comes out. The paint flows on effortlessly and holds its color. This is a real win. I would never paint on canvas again.

I am a self-taught artist who has been experimenting since 2015 with different mediums and surfaces Now this is the first time I have use this board I absolutely love it. Beautiful clear sharp details. Smooth application. I normally use the velour board which takes a lot of layers but this surface I was able to complete the painting in a fraction of the time due to the way it accepted the pastels. Breathtaking! Unfortunately I did have an issue with this product and I see several other reviewers also had the SAME issue ! I had a small patch that would not accept color. It was not overworked nor was it over layered. The gray area just would just not take the color.I was so concerned because my painting was almost done. I ended up extending my puppies hair down to cover the area. The spot is on the bottom of her ear her right side very annoying I am going to try several more paintings with this board because I really love the surface . I hope this was an out-liar with this issue and not a continuing one. When an artist sets to work and puts all their time and energy into a painting and then to have a crash and burn at the very end is very disconcerting to say the least Then the value would be 0. I will post further if allowed
