This was the size of a kids toy. It is totally useless and made so cheap that a child could break it easily

This stitching frame is so well made. It is sturdy and I love being able to rotate my cross stitch canvas completely around when I want to start or finish my threads. I love the wooden knobs to urn instead of wing nuts. I also purchased the 24" scroll bars with the velcro tape to keep my work taut. Excellent purchase.

This is my second American Dream lap stand that I have bought, not because there was anything wrong with the first one but because I needed a second one. I have a long term project on the first one and loved using the stand so much that I decided to order a second one to use with my smaller projects. This stand works great in your lap or on a table. I have used it both ways. It allows me to stitch two handed so I am faster and get more projects finished. It is also easy to turn and get to the back of my work. This stand is well made and is pretty enough that I don't feel bad leaving it set out with a project on it. If you have thought about getting this stand go ahead it is well worth the money. I use mine everyday.

I like the frame, the wood work is well finished and the the lap stand makes it comfortable to work with. I am working on a large cross stitch project and had to purchase longer rods to put in the frame. It is a good thing that one can use different rod sizes in the frame that will fit perfectly. The shipment was fast and the packaging was very good. I will remove a star from this product however, due to the already mentioned problem with the knobs. I just don't find it nice at all that after so many people having expressed their issues with the knobs they don't fix this problem. They get loose incredibly and unreasonably fast. I knew this was a possibility after reading the reviews and before buying and so although not a surprise, it was still annoying to seeing it being confirmed in action. Of course, this can be sorted with purchasing wing nuts, but really, for the price and expected quality, it is really disappointing to see that reported issues are not taken seriously enough to get fixed for future buyers.

I have other American Dream products that I purchased when I lived in the US. They are of excellent quality but more importantly an excellent item to use is you are a needlework enthusiast. So much easier that using hand held hoops. Highly recommend.

Ordered a second frame because I love the one I bought years ago. This one is not quite the same quality. One of the holes on one of the stretcher bars was drilled crooked. The screw cannot be used in it. I will have to redrill it. Also, the knobs do not stay tightened. I'm planning to buy some small rubber washers to see if that will help. Still better than any other frame I have used.

I bought this about a year and a half ago and when I got it a couple of the knobs would not screw on because the screw on the dowel was too short. I called the company and they were very apologetic and said there had been a problem with a few of their units. They promptly sent me new dowels and they worked just fine. I have used this almost daily since then and it is still going strong and it is very handy, especially if you are working on linen or even-weave, which is a bit more difficult. It keeps your fabric taut and is easy to adjust. Make sure you get the adhesive Velcro tape to go with it because that is how you stick it on and it works great! You don't have to baste or tape the edges and it is strong! It is really nice not to have to hold your fabric and worry about keeping it straight and clean. The only complaint I have is that I have to periodically retighten the knobs because they work themselves loose. Other than that this has been a great purchase!

I spent months looking for a lap stand. I decided on this one as the price was right and it went with my scroll rods. I work on a reclining love seat and the legs are very adjustable to help compensate for sitting crooked in the seat. I have arthritis in my hands and knees. There is no pressure put on either part..which is fabulous. It is easy to put together and you can easily change projects when they are on scroll rods (which mine are). My only issue with it, is that the upper side knobs do not stay tight at all. Every time I have to flip to the back when I start or stop a thread, they get quite loose. The wooden blocks that are supposedly there to help it turn without loosening the knobs, don't seem to work as the knobs turn anyway. After a bit, the legs start moving and everything gets wonky. I have to tighten the side knobs every time I flip my work. Considering the pluses otherwise, I can deal with the loose knobs.

This lap/table frame is good, solid, sturdy wood --- nothing flimsy about this. I've been looking for a frame for when I have a needlework project on scroll rods that are too unwieldy to handle and this is great. It straddles my lap when I am in a chair or sitting on my bed so there is no weight on any part of my body. This is important for me because I have badly arthritic knees and the lap frame I used to use (The Elan by Artisan Design) was made so that the heavy oak base laid on my lap, causing painful pressure on my upper legs/knees.The frame is super simple to assemble, and I love how both the vertical legs of the frame AND the included extender bars for the scroll rods have holes bored all along the length making it highly adaptable to any size scroll rods the stitcher is using. This set up is best for projects on scroll rods 18" and wider (my current project is on 22" wide scroll rods). Because of the way you can position your scroll rods on the vertical legs of this frame set, you can also easily set it atop a table -- this product is very stable.Bottom line is that I'm very happy not only with this product, but that I was able to get it through Amazon at a terrific price. I saw this same frame set offered through a needlework mail order catalog at twice the price (probably the MSRP) and to add insult to injury, it was out of stock for at least another month. I can't find where to leave feedback on the seller, but I do want to say that I received this in a very timely manner and it was very well packed for shipping -- arrived in perfect condition.

Really like the frame but like others, I had to replace the adjustment knobs with wing nuts. The threaded sleeves inside the knobs are inserted too deeply so that they cannot be threaded onto the rods tightly. A couple worked okay but the rest didn't. It would have helped to have the threaded rods longer so as to be able to catch into the sleeves sufficiently enough. Otherwise, the frame is great, solidly built, very pretty, and gives a lot of room for the work. I like the velcro strips to attach to, they work very well although I don't know yet where to get more of the sticky velcro tape if it wears out over time, even though I've used it twice now. I think the frame is worth the nuisance of replacing the knobs which the maker needs to fix.
