Box was damaged just a little bit when arrived, but inside of it everything was in perfect condition. Installation was easy, comes with stock cooler, didn't use it cuz i had better air cooler. Runs great, idle temps were 28 to 32°C with normal air cooler. I think core size are enough for some gaming and some work. On load maximum CPU temperature was 62°C (Shadow Of The Tomb Raider). It really is the best CPU at this price point 🙌❤️

Great performance right out of the box. I went from a i5 to this and what a difference. Great budget cpu for gaming.

Surprisingly powerful little CPU. Rated for up to 4.2 GHz, but using the Ryzen Master software's curve optimizer, I get about 4.4 GHz at 70-75 degrees Celsius with the stock cooler and thermal paste.Couldn't be any happier with such a budget friendly purchase. Good enough to get 144 FPS in many games when paired with my 12GB RTX 3060. If you're on a budget it's a great pick. With no 5600s in stock when I made the purchase, I have no regrets.Installation is incredibly easy, a quick video search can teach you to install a processor on your specific motherboard if you're unsure. If you can afford the extra 70-ish CAD to spring for the 5600 or 5600x you definitely should, but if buying cheaper get's your PC off the ground sooner I think this is an excellent choice.Great work from AMD as always in the budget range CPUs!

This cpu works great for gaming and you can save money. Especially when it’s on sale for a good price.Although it does lack in some cases like CPU heavy games.Like Fortnite if you have this budget cpu and paired it with an Rtx 4060 for a budget build Fortnite will have some frame dips.Because of the Gpu being too powerful for the cpu. But in Gpu heavy games it works great.Temperatures on the cpu are consistent never going to high. But do be warned that games like Fortnite will not be playable on any other graphic settings besides performance mode.Trying to launch the game max or on lowest settings of direct 12 will cause major dips in frames. Even with a good pc. I believe it has to just be the cpu not being strong enough. I think that other variables that affect the cpu would be background software like discord and if you use msi afterburner then the fps counter could cause frame issues.Ram is a factor and storage type.So if your buying this cpu for gaming specifically Fortnite run the game on performance and keep the resolution to 80% to 100% then your fine if you want frames. But don’t let my review scare you go with what you believe is best. In my case this cpu was definitely worth the price. And been using it for a few months now with no problems.

Stays cool with the stock cooler but upgrading it would probably be just a little bit better but good enough for gaming performance is out of the park for the price, if your looking for a CPU with an IGPU DO NOT get this one it does not have integrated graphics you WILL need a GPU just a fair warning, i have a GPU so it wasn’t a problem that’s why i got it but overall great CPU.

For several years, AMD has consistently put out solid products in the CPU space. Many would argue that their Ryzen series processors, de-throned Intel as the premier CPU manufacturer, and I would tend to agree in most circumstances. The value and performance from this CPU is fantastic. You can regularly find this processor for under $100, at the time of this review, it can be had for $80. You can't hope to find value like this from Intel, at least not currently. Released in April 2022, the Ryzen 5 5500 is a great choice for someone who is looking for a budget friendly and performant processor, whether it be for gaming or casual computer use. It's got 6 cores and 12 threads, which means that it's more modern architecture makes it viable for longer. A TDP of 65w(watts), means that it's a relatively easy processor to power, so you won't need a high-powered rig to run it, and the inclusion of a cooler in the box, means you have everything you need to put it into your system and go. The Wraith coolers from AMD, are nothing to write home about, but it's additional value for your money that you don't find much nowadays. It's on the AM4 socket, which AMD will be supporting for at least a few more years, although they no longer release new CPUs for this socket. It's pretty clear that AM4 still has some solid staying power, so I would expect some decent longevity with it. All in all, I'd highly recommend this CPU. My fiancé got it for her first desktop, to do gaming and media consumption, and we've both been very happy with it.

This is a great CPU for general use and budget/mid-range gaming! It's able to keep up with all my computing tasks and when gaming with my AMD RX6700XT. Seriously I am very impressed. I will say that when I first installed it, the CPU was running a little warm, but nothing too bad and after a few days it seemed to settle down and now typically sits around 55-65 degrees even while gaming/computing in this hot SoCal summer. I generally see about 20% to 30% usage while playing pretty recent games on 1440p and ultra quality. Would I prefer a 5600x, 5700x or 5800x? Of course, but for the price, nothing beats the value of this CPU and I'm just not willing to spend double the price on relatively limited performance increases. As long as you're not planning to do some extremely CPU-heavy tasks or overclocking, this CPU should fit your needs perfectly. The Wraith Stealth cooler is a nice free add-on as well, although I would suggest if you're looking for ultimate performance, you might want to contemplate a tower air cooler or AIO. However, the Wraith is more than adequate by itself. Anyway, I can't recommend this CPU enough. Keep in mind though, if you're used to Intel CPUs which typically come with integrated graphics, this CPU does not (only G series AMD CPUs like the 5600G for example include integrated graphics although they don't perform as CPUs as well as non G series), so you'll have to buy a graphics card. Also keep in mind X series CPUs like the 5600x are for extreme overclocking (I would go easy on overclocking non-X CPUs and for a lower ranged CPU like this one I would not recommend any overclocking at all). Hope that helps with your decision! Thanks for reading
