Firstly, this part was not machined well when inspecting it the flange with the square opening had gouges on it wasn’t machined smooth looked like someone scratched it up bad while trying to put the gasket on it, second issue the bolt holes to connect the metal coolant line that goes to the oil cooler we’re machined crooked and third of all while trying to make sure the thermostat was bolted down properly (because of all the other issues I mentioned) one of the bolts snapped while using extremely light pressure, the part is cheap, you get what you pay for, oh and I almost forgot, it’s almost impossible to get the gasket on the plastic connector to slide into place on the housing, will update after testing and let everyone know how it goes but I’m not very hopeful

Part worded perfectly on a 2014 chevy sonic 1.8. So glad I ordered this one, which came with the throttle body coolant hose. Definately get that when changing the thermostat housing, mine was so brittle it broke into many pieces removing it, and almost always breaks off at the connection to the thermostat. Also, as advice, FYI to remove the push on "basket" clip just pull it sideways off the connection, is designed to disconnect that way. No need to squeeze or pry.

I got this for my wife's 2012 sonic lt 1.8.It went in perfectly, looks good and has been working perfectly for about 3 days now.came with everything detailed and pictured.I will give this a month and come back to update how it's going but so far it is doing good.update; the thermostat went out pretty quickly (24 days)other than replacing the thermostat with a new one, the housing wasn't bad and is doing great.but the thermostat went out and am replacing it with another, off amazon.

Chevy and their cheap plastic parts! This thermostat and housing is all aluminum and was a direct replacement. Perfect fit and thankfully cheap too. Install went well with no issues during or after the install. And best part of all, no more leaks!

The housing itself is fine and I’m glad it’s not plastic but the thermostat only lasted about a week before going out
