For any non-players buying this for someone else: please note that using this requires the saxophone to have a “lyre holder”. Many do, some do not. Be sure to check before buying!This lyre is perfect for marching band, jam sessions, or home practice with printed music or chord charts. It fit easily and securely on both of my saxes (one vintage, one modern) and stayed put for a 3 hour long jam session with no issues. An hour or so of that session included dancing and jumping around for dramatic effect. This should do the job great for more active practices.

I just picked up the saxophone again and I still have some of my old music from high school. I wanted a lyre to hold it, especially since my eyes aren't what they were in high school, it's nice having it close! The lyre works and does its job. The spring feels good.
