Very high light transmission exceeding ninety five (95) percent of that light some the portions of the spectrum - while blocking unwanted skyglow and many street light emissions.
By rejecting most other light this will cause certain objects to appear more clearly against a blacker background of space.
The filter is made with a special Neodymium glass that effectively filters out selective wavelengths of low-pressure sodium and other man-made sources typically used in street lighting.
The Moon & Skyglow is a multi-bandpass filter transmitting a high percentage of light in the visual spectrum.
It enhances contrast of all reddish details and so this filter can also be used for planetary viewing, as well as of blue details.

I bought this to try to give me some relief from the light pollution skyglow while observing in my suburban skies. I have a Celestron CPC 1100 and a nice little Suncast shed I use as an observatory (popping the roof panels off for my sessions).I was very pleased with the results of this Alstar neodymium glass Moon and sky glow filter. It helped darken the background sky, making the contrast much nicer. Galaxies as well as emission and planetary nebulas popped!The main other thing I loved about this filter is that it blocked the skyglow without messing with the colors of the stars!! And that’s is a big plus for me. Carbon Stars a beautifully red, white stars are white, and yellows are yellow, and bue stars are still blue!Fantastic filter, mounted easily to my eyepiece and the bottom of my diagonal (which is where it will stay most of the time).This filter is perfect for visual observing under medium or low magnifications. I’m sure glad I grabbed one especially at this great price.
