I’m not much of a gardener, but my husband wanted to grow some tomatoes this year. Our fenced in yard is home to chipmunks, squirrels, and birds. This has helped us grow tomatoes without fear of critter pilfer. It is if decent weight and huge for potted plants.

This works well. There are a few very small holes after some weather.

Unless I measured these wrong, I couldn’t believe how big they were upon arrival. They are nice quality so I know they’ll last a few years too.

Okay so these are bigger than I expected. Even a little too big. They are kind of heavy and weigh down my patio peach trees so you’ll definitely need some sort of stake that is taller than your tree. One of the bags has some rips at the bottom edge. They come vacuum sealed and overall just easy to use and they do protect the trees from the cicadas. They don’t look The best but it’s just for a few months until the cicadas are gone. They can be used on any style tree or bush so def very versatile.

We had just purchased some small trees for our yard, when the Morton Arboretum here in the Chicago area announced that trees with trunks under 2” diameter should be protected from the broods of cicadas hatching this summer. Apparently they lay their eggs in the small twigs, and a large tree with many twigs can survive this easily, but it is rough on small trees. So I ordered these. They were very easy to put over the trees, and have a drawstring on the bottom so you can keep the netting from blowing around.Depending on the height and spread of your little tree, you may need a ladder and/or a second pair of hands to help.

Places these over 2 of my crape Myrtle’s in the summer due to Japanese beetles. So glad I used it, saved my trees.

Overall I’m very pleased with these nets, as I’ve rarely seen ones this large that come out of the package ready to use with next to no work required. But caveat emptor — I should have paged through the pictures. I saw the photo that everyone sees when they search for the product and it clearly shows the nets are DARK in color, silver to black. But the actual nets are a stark white color. What’s the big deal? Well, large bright white nets do not blend into the garden at all, whereas black and/or gray nets would. Perhaps it’s shame on me for not swiping through all the photos and reading the smaller print. When the promotional photo — you know, the one that shows up when you search for the item, and the one that’s next to the product’s description — is the opposite color of what you’re getting, I’d call it misleading, to put it as politely as I can.

This net was the final solution for me to stop the invade of Japanese Beetles to my small trees. The net does not seem durable but again since it solved my issue (way better than adding various chemicals and oils), I cannot complain. I recommend this as the first and last way of protecting your trees from the bugs. Do not waste your money on any spray.
